I bought this for my daughter and she is excited to get started growing all of the choices she has in the kit.

I am adding this review and a reminder to come back with results as this starts to grow lettuce. I grow a lot of produce outside as I am fortunate enough to have a lot of space and sunshine, but especially in the winter months I would really like to have access to fresh green things and so I've tried tabletop systems like this sporadically over the years. The one I ordered is white, though I'm not sure the color of the plastic makes a difference for growing. The lights seem very bright and we're often thinking we've forgotten to turn off the kitchen light at night and later realize it's just this going strong. It was simple to set up and I do indeed appreciate the hand holds underneath for when you've got this full of water and are moving it around. As another reviewer said, there's no way you're getting 12 plants in these spots, but I opted to start with spinach, which is an expensive grocery store item but doesn't take up much growing space. I am on my second try as my husband finally consulted the instructions after a couple weeks and noticed that I was indeed supposed to cover the seeds with the stickers - important point. At least until they germinate, there's supposed to be a cover over them. I do wonder how I will be able to reuse these stickers since I only got 12 in the initial pack, but the sponge reorder I did also came with stickers, so maybe that will work out. The holes are square instead of round, but the sponges don't seem to mind. I wish the timer was adjustable as the 16 hours of light that can only be started when you push the power button is a bit inconvenient. For the price, I wish this was taller and more customizable but otherwise I have no complaints. Should be able to update with pictures once I get some germination.

I have a number of little hydroponic systems that I use for seed starting and indoor herbs and greens over the winter. I love this one! The instructions and set up were super easy and intuitive. The system comes with everything you need to start your first round of growing. You'll need to order extra sponges for your next round (as with every system I've used). The light on this system is fantastic- better than most of the other lights I've got going (in these systems). My favorite thing is how solid it is. Instead of just pulling and pushing the light up and down, there is a button that you push to raise and lower it. It just feels much more stable.I highly recommend this unit. When my others die, or if I need more, I will be ordering this. The only downside is that the seed sponge covers (the stickers) are a different shape than the standard circle. This makes getting replacements trickier, but not really a big deal (and you can poetically just use the circles anyway without too much issue)

I love this little hydroponics system. Although this system is great for starting seeds, I am using mine to root hoya cuttings. This system comes with a pump for recycling the water, which is a huge benefit. But because of this, I cannot use my PON to root my cuttings since the sediment will clog the pump filter. Refilling with water is extremely easy from the opening at the top (which includes a cover to keep debris from falling into the reservoir), and there is a max line right there so you don't overfill. There is also a little window to easily see the water level in the reservoir. This system comes with little grow sponge pods that I will use for rooting my cuttings. The light is very bright and the height of the light can be adjusted. There are little clear plastic caps for each basket for more moisture in germination, if needed. This also comes with nutrients to add to the water, which I won't be able to use until I get roots on my cuttings. You can use this system with or without the water pump filtration. I love this system because it is small enough to fit on a small shelf and it is all self-contained. With the pump circulating the water, I'm sure my cuttings will root quickly.

Don't waste your money. Buy a better known product. I loved the first set of plants that grew. However, I have been unable to purchase replacement sponges that fit correctly for this productMost have been too long,(easy fix, just trim them) and way too narrow. Because they don't fit correctly, I have been unable to grow anything else, neither fruit, vegetable, or flower. What a waste!

This small hydroponics kit has everything but the water and the seeds. It is fairly easy to set up but does need to be placed near an outlet with constant power. Both the lighting and the circulation pump run on a schedule based upon turn-on time, so I had to be ready at 6 AM to turn on the power on the first day (twice, actually, as I decided to move the kit to a different spot after setting it up). I do notice the LEDs flicker in one corner of the light panel from time to time, although I can not pin down whether it is a defect or just an undesirable response as the unit makes adjustments. The nutrients come dry inside mixer bottles with a measuring-cup cap. They do need an hour or so to dissolve the materials before shaking and dispensing. There are kits with replacement “sponges,†nutrients, and algae-retardant “stickers†so the system can be used for more than one crop.Seeds still take time to germinate, so patience is required. Kale sprouted and popped up in about three days; everything else is “fingers crossed.â€Full disclosure: I ordered this Hydroponics Growing System Kit through the Amazon Vine program. As a user of the product, I have done my best to provide an honest review.
