Once I took it out of the box I was very impressed with the build quality and has a digital temperature gauge read out on the heater. I'll be double checking the water temp as to the once set up, it was intuitive enough with one adjustment button on the cord to program the perfect heat and it

I think having a spare heater is a must for people with aquariums and this was my spare, that I had to deploy today. I'm not only grateful that my planted Betta tank now has a proper temperature, I really like this heater. It's small, unobtrusive (I can hide it behind plants) and was very easy to set up. The only (slightly) annoying thing is that the temperature is illuminated on the heater, not on an external monitor but it's a light white and it is in the description. I like that there is a nice housing around the heater, but if you have very small fish or fry they could, in theory, end up in there. The price is right, it works as described, I have no complaints (but I do have no back-up heater, I might go ahead and get another of these.

This is the perfect size heater for my 3 gallon saltwater aquarium. They have another model that runs at a preset temperature, which I don't like so I chose this one with temperature control. It works very well and is unobtrusive. The included suction cups are terrible. They will not stay suctioned to my aquarium glass, so I just let it hang in the tank. Not a big deal but the suction cups needs to be larger and more pliable to work. A magnet option would be fantastic! It's a great, compact heater for small aquariums and suits my needs for my pico reef.

Hygger has once again produced a solid aquarium product. I purchased the 25W model to replace my old, bulky heater for testing, and I was not disappointed.First, the design is excellent. Because this model is designed for small tanks, it's also small and thin, which is important as space is valuable in nano aquariums. During installation, I initially placed the heater prominently, but then realized that due to its narrow profile, I could easily tuck it behind my filter, maximizing space. The temperature control is excellent. To set the desired temperature, simply use the single button to toggle through the options and wait a second to confirm your setting. The heater conveniently displays the current water temperature at all times, acting as a built-in thermometer. It easily heated my tank to the set temperature, which I temporarily confirmed with a secondary thermometer. I also appreciate that it remembers my previous settings after a power outage and automatically resumed heating when power was restored. Finally, the safety features are essential for any aquarium heater. It automatically shuts off if it detects that it is not fully submerged. It also has a high-temperature shut-off feature, although I haven't personally experienced this.Overall, I am very pleased with this heater. My old heater has been permanently retired. Hygger has delivered another excellent product.

I honestly hate buying aquarium heaters. I've been paranoid about the process since I had a runaway failure cook a tank of fish 20+ years ago. One thing I've learned over decades of keeping fish is that all heaters fail no matter how cheap or expensive, what they're made of, country of origin, or anything else. They all fail. So, I run a secondary thermostat-controlled outlet with the ability to turn off the heater if the temp rises too much, but I make it a point not to factor that into a heater purchase. My normal process for testing a new heater is to use it for 3-6 months on my 32 gallon top-off containers (brute cans). I go through cycles where i keep the water and preferred temps, then let it drop back to room temp (in my basement, approx 67F) and then bring it back up to temp. This heater has held temp within 2F degrees for the few weeks I've had it.The control is simple on this heater. I would recommend at least taking a picture of the instructions. I have several heaters with digital controls from different manufactures, and they all do it a bit different. Easier to just have a pic or type it up in a document than keep up with paperwork. Don't depend on the manufacturer to have the info up forever!I have the 500w version and the element is under a foot in length. Easily fits in any tank big enough to need a heater this strong. It has a protective shell that feels pretty durable. No issues with the heater alarming due to low circulation in my top-off water. I've had that before with heaters in protective shells (had to remove them) The cord is a bit short for some installs (4ft on either side of the control). In my case, this is going in a sump with power ran inside (no problem), but plan for your controls to be in the middle of the cord so you can make sure you can easily access it. Or don't, lol. Mine has, so far, remembered the set temp every time I unplug it.

Great little heater. Very easy to use. I just set the target temperature (defaults to fahrenheit) and set it into the 10 gallon tank I am setting up. It heated the water to the right temp pretty quickly. I double checked it with another thermometer and it was right on. Kept it at a steady temperature and I love that I can easily see the readout on the control box all the time. Really happy with the size and functionality of this heater. A good value.
