The product came quick and packaged well. I was weary about using adhesive pads but they are VERY STRONG. Both locks and keys worked. Great for my small buisness to prevent theft.

I frequently go to coffee shops, libraries, or other public areas solo because of work and school. I bought this lock to be able to leave my items alone in a room or private table area if I have to run to the bathroom or somewhere else quickly.I do not think anyone has attempted to take my laptop since getting this lock but I'm sure the way it looks will scare some people off. If there is ever an attempt I will update my review with the sturdiness. I pretended to rob myself and it seemed like it would be ok for quick run type of stealing

This is a very convenient Kensington lock cable. The main thing that stands out is it's versatility. First of all the vinyl coated steel cable is over six feet long. On one end is a lock that fits the Kensington lock slot on many small electronic devices like laptops, tablets, game consoles, and the like. An identical lock is on a short tether that can slide the length of the cable allowing for a wide possibility for placement of the valuable equipment to be secured. The other end of the cable ends in a loop that can be used to wrap the cable around a heavy table leg, nearby support column, or other immovable object to secure the cable in place. Also included are two anchor plates, metal squares with holes to fit the locks into and backed by some 3M® very high bonding adhesive. These can be affixed to devices that don't have a lock slot built in or you can stick them to your desk or other surface in your regular spaces to use as a securing point rather than looping the cable around a heavy object. With two locks you can either lock up two devices with the looped cable or, using an anchor plate, lock one device to a fixed surface. Both stainless steel locks are Kensington MicroSaver® 2.0 type tubular pin tumbler locks with 7 pins, though only 4 pins appear to be active, the remaining three being idle pins. This is a common practice. These types of locks are not intended to provide high security but rather just to prevent someone passing by from quickly snatching your laptop while you are not paying attention. Despite the low security expectations, I still did not like to see the key code engraved on the face of the lock. As someone who works with locks I appreciate that they provide the code on the key but placing the code on the lock is a bit much. I have removed it with a grinder. Of course, it would not make any difference to anybody without locksmith skills and equipment. The locks swivel and rotate freely at the end of the cable allowing great flexibility of placement of your equipment. But this also means that you must grasp the lock firmly when locking and unlocking it or else turning the key will only rotate the lock, not the core inside the lock. One other thing to mention about the key action is that this is what is called a "forced locking key". The key can only be removed from the lock when it is in the locked position. This doesn't have any negative implications on the use of the lock since this style of lock can't be locked without the key anyway.Summary: This is a versatile Kensington style laptop cable lock that can secure two items at once and offers a range of possibilities for how to secure your important items. If you often take your laptop with you to work while traveling or don't feel safe getting up to get your order in a crowded coffee shop, then this is for you.

one lock is ok but sticky and difficult to move through the tumbler. the other lock gets stuck mid way and doesn't complete the locking mechanism, as seen in the picture. great concept; poor execution. will be returning (or replacing, we'll see).

Returning the product went well but nothing else. The lock jammed with the key in and effort to free it broke the lock pin. I expected the pin to be much stronger.
