Well made. States UL approval (probably recognized). Double spade terminals make it easy to wire. There is a mounting tab.On the "Universal" claim: I purchased this for my 21 cf Kenmore Refrigerator/Freezer. It's 14 years old and was running a Supco RCO410 the last 6 of those. I expected it to far outlast the factory part but the PTC disk cracked---again. I put another 3-in-1 in for a few days but I wanted to try something different and figured a real relay would do better. I was leaning toward a current relay but came across this 50A puppy. My fridge's start-circuit "inrush" is 6.4 A so it should last maybe forever?Leaving the factory Klixon Thermal Overload Switch on the compressor, I used ICM's "Alternative Reduced Arcing Configuration": [NEUTRAL, Compressor RUN, Relay T5, Capacitor T1], [Compressor START, Relay T2], [Capacitor T2, Relay T1] & [LINE, Thermal Over Load],I know when the fridge is starts the Start winding Potential rises from 9 to 158 VAC. I'm not sure what the pickup voltage is on this but this Universal part is happy with this tiny compressor. Starts are quick and clean. Also, the relay runs cooler than the 3-in-1 so maybe a bit of energy savings there?Update 2020-04-05: Still going.

The last one I ordered only lasted two years on the AC unit. Take out warranty

Unable to find potential relay in Europe. This relay solved my problem; how to run a 4kW motor on 1-phase 230VAC. Thanks to Youtube videos I identified the correct capacitors, start and run. Now my home made woodworking belt sander works like a charm.Plus: easy to configure/wire up. Neg: none. Happy woodworker in Norway.

Works fine on hard starts as a potential relay should. Dislikes are none but like the 240 volt sensing over the 290 + volt start winging voltage sensing method. Hard start compressors may require the higher voltage times. To stay on a fraction of sec longer. All compressors that are hard starting require an extra kick.

I use the USMR-50 as a replacement on all my commercial pump control station controls. Much higher quality, duty cycles to failure is better than stock replacement. This has left my clients with fewer failures and longer time between service calls making them happy.

Just to make sure I asked ICM about "universal" and it is. Replaced $56 unit with this - works great.
