Works as intended. A little stronger & thicker than a similar product i picked up at home depot. Followed instructions, cleaned joists, made sure they are dry, applied tape & rubbed rag over taped area to ensure adhesive engaged over full joist surface. Used during hot & muggy weather. Not sure why people are complaining that product doesn't stick, unless they are not following directions or doing a sloppy job with application, I found product works excellent. Very happy with repair of deck & look forward to improving life of existing deck. I recommend this product.

We are repairing a deck because of the problem that tapes like this are intended to prevent. Several of the deck boards and joists had rotted and needed to be replaced. This tape looks to be an ingenious solution to the problem of dirt and moisture collecting in the gaps between the deck boards above the joists.The tape went down easily. Cutting the lengths of tape before going up the ladder to apply them was a good idea. It's best not to fight the roll while applying the tape--especially when one is on a ladder twelve feet above the ground. The tape is only 1/8" wider than the standard 1 1/2" wide joist. That's only 1/16" on either side of the joist, so one must be careful when centering the tape on the joist. Overall, applying the tape went quickly for us.I'll add that the top of the tape is slippery, so the deck boards easily slide before they are attached. This is nice for positioning them, but also could be a danger if one is not careful while walking over the boards before they're attached.This tape is well worth the investment. Don't build a deck without it.

All is well, applied easy, looked nice. A section in the middle of the roll had no stick-em. I had to throw away that section and over lap it in that spot.

Knowing there was the concept of there being joist tape most influences my rating. For the minimal cost, an almost guaranteed way to prevent the most common way your deck joists are going to rot seems like it should be a requirement of any deck build. The people that built my deck did not use it and that seems criminal unless this concept did not exist 10 years ago.As far as this particular product, it did exactly what I wanted, seemed to be good quality, adhered well. It is like slightly wider electrical tape with some roughness on the side where the deck boards would sit. I would use this product again next time I need it.

There was nothing about it I didn't like really. Yes, it is sticky but that is a GOOD thing for this application. With that said, just handle it carefully and avoid letting it contact itself and you will avoid having it wrapped around itself or your fingers. Works like a charm once applied. This was my first time using a joist tape....never knew anything about it before. But I won't build another deck without it. It ain't cheap, but it sure is a helluva lot cheaper than rebuilding a rotted deck.

I have used this on two projects -- a bridge and a balcony and it does what its supposed to. This stuff is all the rage on the YouTube deck building channels and it does make sense b/c its kind of like a roof for the deck joists, protecting them from the elements. Is it essential? Probably not. I am tearing down a deck I built in 1999 without any of the new-fangled accessories and it's in fine shape. But some of those accessories just make sense and this seems to be one of them.

It's a good size for 2x lumber: just a bit wider than 1.5 inches to smooth the edges down. If sticks very well to treated lumber and stays stuck under sun and rain. No issues using it at all. I didn't leave if for long under the sun but it held for a day no problem.

Used for all our joists. Had to return some as we got the wrong size. Make sure to check sizes before buying as they come in 2†and 4â€. Sticks to joists perfectly!

I took a chance buying this after reading the reviews. I just installed 8 rolls of it and I can't find one thing to complain about! It's better than the known brand you find at home depot. It sticks well, the width is perfect for single joist. In a high humidity area, I think it's a wise investment even on a single joist. I'm happily surprised honestly and cost saving is huge. Can't go wrong with that stuff!
