I was a bit sceptic when I bought this item. But it has worked fine for me. I have been using it for last 4 months or so. It has been working as expected. I did not use the adhesion. I have fastened the item to the wall using screws.

I have a mail slot next to my door and the mail used to go everywhere on the floor and so we started calling it "floor mail". Baskets didn't work, the mail would fall into them some times but most of the time it would just fall to the floor. Since buying this it's caught ALL the mail and we haven't had any floor mail since! lolIt's sturdy and easy to install IF you use screws and not the adhesive. I tried just the adhesive and it fell off the first time we got mail. So if you don't want to screw it into the wall you might have to buy other adhesive or something.

This worked perfectly for our application. Our mail slot is on the garage door so every time it opened our mail went flying and we were chasing letters like Harry Potter. The holes on the bracket are adjustable and lined up perfectly with our existing mail slot bracket so we were able to use those. I did not use the adhesive since we used the bolts. The top flips down for mail retrieval and stays closed when the door opens. Please excuse my redneck door insulation. My door is on the north side of the house so it gets cold.

Garage door installer initially installed it wrong, have no idea if he read directions or not. With directions I got it installed properly and it has done a good job of catching and holding the mail. For daily use it is great, think some mail may end up on floor if allowed to build up for a number of days.Definitely easy to use once installed.
