I've used many diaphragm pumps over the years, but mostly 12v DC pumps. This pump runs on 120VAC, but otherwise is very similar to a typical RV style pump. Testing this pump before installing, it draws around 85 watts of power. The steel housing should provide better cooling and last longer than plastic housings for prolonged use. The adjustable pressure switch is easy to access under the end cap, but came set to turn off the pump at 45psi. The standard 1/2" pipe threads make for an easy replacement or installation. Barbed fittings are included, along with a small pre-filter. The pump self-primed and settled into quiet(ish) operation. The rubber washers around the mounting screw holes are more spartan than many pumps I've used, and transmit vibrations to the wall or board they are mounted to. While not the quietest or cheapest pump around, I'm encouraged by the 'industrial' claim and 3 year warranty, and will revisit this review if I encounter any problems.
