I needed a kitchen thermometer to measure the temperature of my sourdough as I go through the stages of making the dough. I did not realize the importance of temperature in baking until I tried it!!! This is a necessary kitchen tool and this one works great and was at a reasonable price point.

So far it has worked very well on any surface, and up to 50' distance. Would recommend at this point.

I use this to judge roasted coffee and roaster temperatures. You need to be uncomfortably close to the heat source, but at that distance the temp reading is in the ballpark of the temps I set.It's of zero use through glass. This is in no way a precision instrument but it somewhat serves my purpose.
