I bought this item "like new, used" for $193. description said damaged box. The unit was undamaged, and had never been installed. All the hardware was in unopened plastic bags, and the unit itself still had the dishwasher plug installed and stickers attached. It was a very easy install, but is a lot heavier than the old contractor grade disposal it replaced. The unit has some wiggle room, once locked in, to get it perfectly aligned. It snapped into place securely, and is very quiet for a garbage disposal. It is powerful and handles most anything you throw into it. I really like the guts are all stainless steel. It should last a long time.

I Upgraded from a 1/2 HP basic InSinkErator to this 1 HP Evolution model......There is night and day improvements in the Evolution 1 HP and so well worth the extra cost!So much quieter and chops up scraps quickly and very fine with little to no effort.The previous basic 1/2 hp model would make a huge amount of noise and took forever to chop even something simple like a banana peel.See pics for comparison of the 2 units along with the final installation of my new 1 HP Evolution InSinkErator.Installation was a simple job with minimal tools and instructions were very well done.It's so effortless and quiet you'll find yourself looking for things to grind up as it's kind of fun! LOL!A must buy IMHO......so worth the cost!

This disposal replaced a 20 year old Badger5. It is really smooth and quiet! Fast grinder, too.It has the same connection system as the old one, which meant we did not have to replace the sink parts. Installation instructions were clear and easy to follow. Hardwiring adapter is straightforward.The downside is it is wide and heavy. This made it very difficult to get into position and lined up with the existing flange threads. Our sink has a post between the cabinet doors underneath it that blocks access making the opening very narrow and awkward to reach in. It took me several tries to lift it in and line it up from a seated position on the floor. The rubber grip areas on the sides of the disposal were a welcome feature.Once installed, the fit is secure and vibration is minimal. Connects easily to the dishwasher and plumbing. Really like the vibration-absorbing connector for the drainpipe.

Did I say this garbage disposal is quiet? I grew up in the days when running a garbage disposal made it sound like half the house was collapsing. When we renovated our kitchen, I vowed to look for something quiet but was skepitcal that I'd find anything. But this unit is surprisingly quiet. Not silent, but you hardly notice it's on, and it doesn't disrupt normal conversation. Oh...and it does a terrific job as a garbage disposal, too!

Installation was very do-able. Fits well under sink without requiring lots of space. It's extremely quiet (compared to previous unit) and it's working beautifully. My only "unpleasant" comment: At almost $300 for the disposal, the $12 power cord should have been included.

We replaced a 2020 ISE Evolution Excel because it was too loud and needed resetting . This "Advanced Series" unit is quiet BUT is far inferior in 3 ways:1. Will NOT grind some items AT ALL ! - grape vines after you pick off the grapes, egg plant tops, etc.2. Very slow3. The Insinkerator rubber splash guard constantly gets clogged with food cuttings, water backs up and you have to remove it to push down food , re-insert, then run again. My wife was constantly running it with no splash guard.I e-mailed customer assistance. They told me that the new design creates smaller particles that are less likely to clog the drain and perhaps I could still find an old Insinkerator Excel somewhere ( discontinued model). In frustration we replaced this 6 week old unit ( beyond return window) with a Frigidaire 1.25 hp unit > WAY BETTER in all respects.

Replaced my badger and this is a definite upgrade . Fairly easy install and it nice a quiet . Love the removable sink piece that allows meWash everything down into the disposal. Great price for the value .

This unit is much better than my old one which was 17 years old. It is far quieter and grinds more efficiently and faster as well. The one thing I would noticed, I hate the new electrical hook up. It is overly cumbersome. The old ones just wired together with wire caps. Why did they have to make it more complicated than it needed to be with their proprietary plug? That part is ridiculous.

I wouldn't say this is whisper quite but it is certainly much quieter than the previous unit. Easy install and included wire harness made the job painless.
