For the $200 to $250 price range I paid I believe this is a great deal. The quality looks above average and the size is superb. I have played with it but not installed it yet. I liked it enough that I just ordered another one and will install them both at the same time. I love the fact they are not taking away from my floor space or structural integrity. Some people complain about having to chisel a stud but in reality that just means the builder did not build the wall properly. I wanted an in wall safe as wide as possible without removing studs. If I go to install them and I change my mind I will update my review.

Overall I'm not displeased, but other comments about sizing are accurate.1) This thing is just barely too wide to fit perfectly spaced studs. If you want to avoid chiseling, either find a spot where your stud spacing is wide or use blocking to stretch the studs.2) Walls in the US are typically either 4in or 4.125in from the back of one sheet to the front of the other - apparently no one told the designer, because from frame to back this cabinet is a little over 4.3in deep. While not the end of the world, the gap it leaves begs for a spacer or caulk.3) As this is a single walled cabinet, there are lots of perforations that will allow dust in if you have penetrations in your wall caps for electrical et al. I taped and then foamed it in, and the shelf brackets still work fine.4) For some reason I thought this was flush to the wall. It's not, and protrudes over an inch. Not a big deal, and the extra depth is helpful for fitting bulkier arms.5) The fabric pistol holders are fixed in place, limiting the position of shelves which will prevent closing of aligned vertically with a pistol. Would have preferred velcro.6) Door is secured with a top and bottom hinge pin on the right (mounting side is not changeable) and two locking pins at the lock location. This is not a safe. Good for preventing easy access, but a prepared thief will get in quickly.7) Comes fully assembled; installation only took an hour.8) Commenters who couldn't figure out the fingerprint reader are likely prone to user error or can't read. The instructions are clear, and properly programming the lock takes all of 3 minutes.

This wall safe seems well built and is stout. Keep in mind when ordering this wall safe that the inner dimensions are not shown. I have a Savage/Stephens 320 12 gauge with a 28 inch barrel and it does not fit. The stock sticks out past the door opening by about 1-1/2 inches. The over all dimensions of any fire arm going into this wall safe needs to be no taller, when placed horizontally on a surface, (from bottom to top) than 4 inches, unfortunately that does rule out most shotguns and rifles. My Umerex Ruger pellet gun will not fit either. The pistol pockets are oversized to fit a variety of small arms. They are not very well padded. A box of 2 3/4 shells will not fit on the shelves and let the door shut unless placed width way facing forward. In my opinion this wall safe is best for small arms storage only as well as any documentation that needs secured. The picture is NOT accurate in displaying a long range/medium range weapons system that fits.

Although is very nice and built strong, it does stick out a little bit from the wall. I guess if it was an exterior wall that I was putting it in maybe I’d have a little bit more room to fit it flush. Just add a little framing around, the edges of it and it look fine Or build a conceal box around it.

Despite many of the other reviews saying the safe size didn’t work for 2x4 walls, I rolled the dice on this safe. It's heavy, the build quality seems decent, and the amount of space inside is sufficient…but it comes at a price. With the ACTUAL width of the cabinet PLUS the clips that hold the shelves, your wall cavity has to be 15" wide. To add insult, it's also too deep to fit flush with your wall...by about 1/2". I had to cut the stud on one side, basically, in half to get it to fit between the studs (non-load-bearing wall) and then had to fabricate some trim to put between the drywall and the safe so there isn't a gap. Depth would be fine if the wall you’re installing it in was 2x6. I made it work and it looks fine, but if I had it over, I probably would have gone another route to save time, effort and sawdust. Build quality is good enough for a 4 star, but size issues result in 3 stars.
