It is difficult to find good quality at a decent price these days. Irwin usually comes through. It is not daily use professional durable, but for the occasional use it more than suits my needs. Easy to mount and use on my Wen drill press and provides a strong hold.

I needed a small vice to hold little things on the drill press. I don’t have this bolted to my vice table as the things I drill are of all kinds of different shapes and sizes and need different positions a lot so I hold one end with my hand.For drilling little pieces or parts that don’t require high accuracy, this works really well and I’m very happy with it. It holds the part safely and securely and keeps my hands out of the drill (which was the main reason I got it).I definitely am getting the function out of it that I expected and the price was perfect for that.When I need something more accurate and/or am making multiple pieces the same, I go to a different solution.

I bought this in conjunction with a few other items in order to utilize as a workbench vise for working on my AR Platforms. Since Im limited for space where I live I can have a huge workbench so I went with a small setup I saw a guy using on youtube. So in conjuction with this I also have magnetic vise pads and a Complete Upper Receiver Block. That is it has the Bolt Carrier Group Block and the Magwell block and you clamp this down in the vise. You do have to mount this on something sturdy so I used 4 lag bolts with washers and lock washers so that If I ever go somewhere I can have an actual workbench I can still attach the vise to whatever. Vise if of great construction, Id just a bit of grease to the threaded pusher on both the threads and where the threaded part goes into the vise. Id also add a slight coating of oil or grease on the jaw faces as these are all bare metal and will rust. Ive used it several times from working on the upper adding mounts, muzzled devices and doing general maintenance. Has really come in handy

It's good enough for general home or light engineering use. Not envisaged being used to produce Swiss watches but good for the price.
