Right up front I want to say that these loppers are way too heavy for me to use. I can hardly lift them. But I am not quite five feet tall and 74 years old. My husband, who is older but taller and stronger than I am, has used the loppers and says that they are sharp and strong. The latter is important because he has managed to break our last two sets of loppers and we are really hoping these will last longer.I used the hand nippers to trim some dead leaves from some very large and nasty aloes and agaves in our backyard. The nippers are sharp and worked well, but the locking mechanism failed immediately. I would be more concerned about that aspect if we had children on the premises, but we don't so I didn't deduct from my rating but felt it should be mentioned.Given the strong build and adjustability of the loppers, plus the extra blade and anvil, as well as the nippers (despite their flaw), I think this is an excellent set and well worth the price. Highly recommended!

This is perhaps the heaviest-duty set of loppers I've used. For sure they are the physically heaviest, which speaks to the thickness and strength of the metal they are made out of. The big cutters made short work of branches nearly an inch in diameter, and I am sure they could handle larger ones if necessary.Like many such loppers, you can extend the length of the arms for additional cutting leverage. I haven't had good luck with that in the past, as it's possible to generate so much force that the arms bend, so I'm not sure I'll use these that way. But at their default length, they are able to cut anything I'd reasonably expect them to with no risk of failure.Unlike many such tools, these come with a handy replacement cutter and anvil set, ready for you to replace when the first set wears out.You also get a decent set of hand garden shears, which work similarly though on a smaller scale. This little tool is useful though not as nice as the large one, in particular the locking mechanism isn't well engineered. But that's not essential.The primary reason you'd get this is for the big loppers, and those are excellent.

I’m short and using the extra long hedge trimmers on a pole machine is too much for me to do over my head— they’re too heavy and I always approach our taller shrubs at a bad angle because of my own (lack of) height. So I use loppers a lot. These are by far the sharpest and highest quality loppers I’ve ever used. They even come with replacement blades AND hand shears. It’s always good to have an extra set of hand shears, since it’s awfully easy to temporarily lose them in the flower beds when randomly distracted (I see a weed! Squirrel! UPS!). But the loppers are the biggie; I’d be super happy to pay full price for them even without the bonus hand trimmer. They have excellent bite, make clean cuts easily, and give me power I’ve never had without using either a hand saw or a chainsaw. I’m thrilled, and my husband and I may be fighting over who has first claim to these.

These are decent cutters that made some overhead work fairly easy. It comes with clippers that had a safety and good grip.Both cutters were sharp and sliced through the branches easily. The set comes with extra blades but I didn't try replacing them. This seems kind of expensive for what you get, but maybe with the extra blades I won't have to replace them so often.

I got this for my husband, and he says it's a very good quality product. It does the job, and it does it well. He says it's very easy to use and worth the money. I recommend. I also like the fact that it can come a part to be cleaned as well.
