These little guys are harmless and benefit the aquarium, if you wish to avoid, doing a bleach or alum dip will eliminate any potential hitchhikers.

Purchased two plants (3rd was free) and they arrived on time and in excellent condition. They looked exactly as depicted in the photos and were robust and healthy upon arrival.With Java Ferns, you must remove the black thread that is wrapped around the roots. It’s difficult to see but it’s there. Just snip and remove it before planting and you’ll have much greater chance of success with this hardy species.The plants I received are lush and doing well in a densely planted 30 gallon cube. Ferts 2 x per week and a few root tabs in the soil

Plants didn't even make it 48 in the tank. All levels are fine. Small brown spots when arrived but didn't think it would spread so fast. Make sure you take pictures of your stuff as soon as you see it. Seller will tell you it looked fine in the bag!
