– Install a proper suction header on suction pen.
– Place the suction header onto the unit desired for pickup.
– Press button on the suction pen to let air out of the vacuum unit, then release the button to produce the vacuum suction force needed to pick up the unit.
– Place unit in the proper place, then press the button down to discharge air from the vacuum to release the unit from the suction header.

I use this item to put small, flat, plastic, parts into tight places. This item works simply and perfectly in my application.

This thing is hot garbage. I needed to pick up tiny plastic balls but not happening.First issue, the rubber tips are all wavy and not flat enough or cupped enough to make contact even on a perfectly flat surface.Next issue, when I could get something picked up (flat items with smooth surface that only weight a few grams) they would fall off in about 2 seconds (so it's not keeping suction.

Needed this in a pinch and ordered overnight delivery. This got decent reviews as far as stars, so I thought it would be ok.Turns out the pen like tool falls apart if you look at it. The smaller tool with the rubber bubble on the end works fine which is why I gave this a 3 in stead of a 0.

I got several of these vacuum pens to test out, at least one of which was 2-3x the price of this. This is the only one I enjoyed using. The button position is convenient, and it holds quite well

Has virtually no suction, and can't even pick up a standard atmega chip.
