Not using it for snakes, haha. Had shoulder surgery and using it to close my car door. It's perfect! Telescoping handle reaches and hook at the end easily pulls the handle to close my door. Wonderful product. Thank you.

I purchased to be able to reach my shoe boxes off the top shelf of my closet. Worked perfectly! I have also used it several other occasions to pick stuff up in tight situations where I couldn't reach my arm down into. Now I'm purchasing for my daughters too!

I installed a light weight plastic rollup shade to cover up a large projector screen and bought this to raise and lower the shade. I also have top down bottom up cellular shades covering windows that are 7 ft tall, and I was hoping to use this hook to pull down/raise up the cellular shades also. While this hook worked nicely with the light plastic rollup shade, it literally gets bend out of shape and cannot handle the 7' cellular shades. I like that it's small and retractable, and I hope it will last if I only use it for the light rollup shade.

For those using this "off-label" to pick up your pool skimmer basket, this hook is a no-go. I'm not really sure I'd trust it to snakes, either. One of the tubes slid out completely, splitting the thing in two. (Another reviewer has a picture of the same thing.)It's still technically long enough to pull out the basket, but I have to bend over now which isn't ideal. I'm glad it was cheap, but it's still disappointing.

I bought this so I wouldn't have to climb into the bed of my truck to get stuff that had slid forward out of my reach.It was very handy for a few months, but eventually fell completely apart. I think it was the luggage I tried to hook that broke it.I have it 3 stars since I was not using it for its intended purpose.

I know it's described as a "snake hook", but I use it when I empty the skimmers on my pool. I hate to open the skimmer lids by hand because there's no predicting what I'll find in there. Bugs, frogs, mice, and even snakes! Now I just easily lift the lid, pull up the basket, take it to the trash can and dump it. Much safer than doing all that barehanded. Can't say much about the snake handling, but it works for my purpose!

I do some grocery shopping through an app. I am short and often things are unreachable on top shelves. I attached this hook to a carabiner on my belt. Lightweight, fold up extension. Now I can get the unreachable cereal boxes and jars without waiting for a tall person to walk by. I hear it is great for snakes too!!

I was looking for an extending hook to raise and lower window blinds which I couldn't reach all the way to the top. Don't know about snakes, but works amazing for blinds!

Not good quality as it pulled apart the first time I used it. Might have some use but cannot pull or hook anything with any weight. I was trying to hook a smaller wrench 12 mm that was dropped behind something and it came apart. A wrench is not that heavy.
