No directions. You have to close the shutter to remove the original. Then you can install this. Works as described.

This eye piece was very hard to fasten to the camera, but after it's on the difficulty results in a much more stable and secure mount.

WOW, I wouldn't mount this eyepiece on a TOY camera. Before I had it out of the package it was falling apart. I put more finger prints on it trying to get it together and on the camera then there are finger prints at the local police station, trying to mount this on my $3k+ D850. The people that reviewed it so well must be JJC company employees because this item will be selling in dollar stores in 6 months after people find out how poor the quality is. I don't usually give such BAD reviews BUT THIS ITEM deserves a -6 stars. It is not worth the rubber it was made with let alone the "optical lense". Find something else... anything else.

..it fits the ring size and thread. Nice to have the cup. Just a pain in the butt when I’m switching film. Gets in the way of the door.
