Attention: According to the customers reviews on this product, couples of customers mentioned the hood does not lock into place and falls off the lens easily, actually the reason why this happen is because the hood is not snapped firmly into proper place. If your lens is the correct 18-55mm lens mentioned above, we verify this hood will fit perfectly though it might be a little tight getting it to snap into the lock position for the first time of use.
The lenses listed above are not compatible lenses, please double check your lens before purchase.
If your lens is Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR or AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II, you have to take the Nikon HB-45 lens hood.
If your lens is Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II, you have to take the Nikon HB-69 lens hood.

I bought the wrong one. Only fits the af-p version. I have af-s which Doesn’t fit Too loose and won’t lock on.

For the price it’s very good. Works great for my Nikon 55mm lens . It locks in with a snap and secures it but is easy to twist off when you need to. Great for helping protect your lens and is good quality. It’s a hard plastic so if you accidentally sit or put a lot of weight on it while off the lens it will probably crack but when on it will provide very adequate protection and shade. Highly recommend for 55mm.

I put the original lens hood in the recycle bin a year or so ago. Then a couple weeks ago I found out I needed a lens hood to improve landscape images. This one works perfect. Thank You!

After making a mistake of buying a cheaper product, I returned the item and bought this hood for my standard lens and one for my telephoto lens. The hoods easily / quickly attach to each lens and fit snugly. They click into place giving you the confidence they won’t come loose nor fall off. A perfect fit. Highly recommend !!!
