The Control racket is assembled with pips-in JOOLA Adapter 32 rubber on both sides with a sponge thickness of 1.8mm, providing more control. The softer sponge provides more spin at lower speeds. The blade is a 5-ply combination of basswood from the Talia Americana tree and Tung wood from the Chinese Tung Tree, creating a 5.7mm blade thickness. Basswood is known for being light, strong and resonant; however, it has a soft and even texture which gives great feedback and helps develop the proper technique. Tung wood is sometimes used to substitute balsa and basswood since it is stronger, lightweight, and tougher, which allows the player to produce more power in every hit. Paddles seem really nice straight out of the box. After three months, the rubber started peeling off the wood. Not cool, feels like a big waste of money. Our $10 paddles hold up better than these. I do not recommend.

This is a great set for ping pong table owners who are ready to take things up a notch from the paddles that came with their table that have rubber flaps falling off and being glued back on (sound like I've been there??). It really is amazing how different (read: better) the feel and experience of play is when you have good paddles and when both paddles are exactly the same in terms of quality. In my family we were always fighting over the "good paddle" that hadn't been glued back together yet. Now we can play on the same level and both players get the good paddle! The balls are great too. These are no beer pong balls that will easily dent or crack or implode, they're really nice and have great action to them! I really dig the black and white motif as well. My husband always goes for the dark side haha. It's pretty cool that the set comes presented so nicely and has a winner's medal as well, but I wish it wasn't so cheesy and plastic. While the overall quality and presentation of the set is very high, I still think it might be a tad overpriced, especially considering that the set doesn’t come with any rubber. That being said, I can't complain about how well the paddles and balls play and how well they have held up so far with lots of use. Hopefully this helps someone else! I liked this product because it was really made well and its a professional paddle. I play ping pong with my dad with these paddles and they are really good it makes the ball curve. if you played with different paddles then these and you these it is going to be a little different but it doesn't take long to get use to them.

100% would not recommend. The very first time my wife and I played the Blizzard paddle started to delaminate. I used would glue to fix the desalination, the next day the opposite side started to desalination. Within a week of getting the paddle we went to a friend's house to play, during a normal swing on a ball the handle snapped from the paddle. This is the worst build quality I have ever seen in a paddle. We have $5 Prince paddles that have held up far better. So far the Blackout paddle has held up as far as build, but it leaves a smell on my hand similar to artificial catfish bait. This is the last time I will buy a Joola product. If you are in the market for a really great paddle, I purchased the Killerspin Jet-black paddle and it has held up through traveling to the middle-east and back. Over the last 8 months I have run that paddle through the ringer and it has not let me down.Update: Now the Blackout Paddle has broken at the handle, Killerspin paddle is still going strong. I reaffirm that I will not buy another Joola product. Build quality was absolutely terrible. Love my Prince table and Killerspin paddle.
