The ice maker works great! Makes a ton of cubes quickly! 1 tray every 6 minutes. Although they are small in size time is on their side. How many cubes can your freeze make in a few hours? I can fill up a gallon baggie in about 4 1/2 hours. The ice quality and consistency is great. It’s easy to use and is easy to clean. Has its own self clean function as well. It’s a little noisy as far as when it runs. It’s not unbearable but it is something that you can hear from a few feet away. (Fan) As far as the durability of the item it’s got a plastic lid that may break if mishandled and the outside of the unit is plastic as well. It is an electro-mechanical device so only time will tell the real quality and durability of the item. At this point it’s a good value if you’re in need of a stand alone ice maker. It ya keeper in my book.

We purchased this for our office. We enjoy iced tea in the summer and didn’t like buying bags of ice. We turn it on in the morning and by noon we have enough ice to enjoy a cold drink. They are small cubes and the tray needs to be emptied into the freezer every 2-3 cycles so the ice doesn’t melt. I do wish that the unit beeped when it needs the test emptied or water added.

I can't run a water line to my refrigerator, so this is the best next thing for making plenty of ice. We use this at our cottage, and it runs from the moment I rise, until it's time for bed. It doesn't refrigerate, so if you don't use the ice within the hour, the ice will melt, and the water goes back into the water reservoir. That's why I don't run it when we are sleeping. It's a great investment.

Works great and mMakes ice fast! Disagree with those that say it's too noisy. It's in my kitchen and I hardly hear it but don't actually focus on that either. Easy to use and care for, sturdy, and definitely worth the price!

The ice doesn't last very long BUT it churns out more ice to make up for it. We were buying ice bags and now we don't have to. It works well for a small family. Let it make ice and bag it so you'll have a "supply".

We sent this back. We have one model that Amazon no longer carries which has a nice sized ice basket on it. I was surprised when this one got here and the basket that holds the finished ice isn’t big enough to hold barely a full iced tea glass full. Only 1/4to 1/3 the size of what we have. What’s the use?!? Nope. Don’t bother if you are a frequent user.

Just be aware that the ice cubes are not very small. Also, they don't stay totally frozen. They melt a little and refreeze over and over. Not a quiet machine!
