I love the look of the kalimba, I'm really going to enjoy practicing and playing on it. It has a really professional well-made look to it that seems to have a discounted price because of how phenomenal it looks. I love it, going to love it more when I play it!

UPDATE 012425 - We have really enjoyed our Kalimba, however, we noticed today that is cracked right by the top opening. We haven't dropped it or anything, it looks like the wood cracked along the grain. Sad to see it. You can see it in the uploaded photo.Wow! I will say that I was super impressed with this musical instrument when I received it. I was packaged well and good for that since it's a really pretty instrument! The device is made from a really nicely grained wood with a very high-gloss finish. The keys are highly polished, and the tone is very, very nice!The instrument should be held up and off of your lap, we found this out quickly when we first played it because there are holes in the bottom where sound resonates. My daughter quickly learned a few songs and it was like this thing was made for lullabies. I would say this would be such a cool instrument for a new daddy or mommy who'd like to play some soft lullabies to their little babies as they're going to sleep. It's such a nice, rounded, lovely tone.All in all, this is a finely crafted instrument with a wonderful tone, well packaged and presented, and for the price, I highly recommend it!

Bought two of these just before Christmas, one of them as a Christmas present and the other as a February birthday present.I opened both when they arrived 12/20/2024 and they seemed fine, nice sound, although a rather heavy lacquer finish. I gave the first one at Christmas as planned and put the second up out of the way on a shelf. I just looked again before wrapping it up for the birthday this weekend and there is a big split in the wood that runs along the front. The wood is also pulling away from the seam at the left edge.So, this is not going to be the present, and I am pretty disappointed. I hope the one I gave for Christmas did not develop a similar flaw.

Gave as a gift and they love it !! Beautiful sound!! The color is gorgeous. Built very nice quality!! The size is perfect .
