Bought this to use on a storage shed with a sloped roof in conjunction with a protractor to set the angle. Very well built with a blade calibrated in both inches and mm's/cm's embossed in the steel and not painted on.

This seems as good as any midsized plastic bevel. It looks like ABS plastic and not glass reinforced, but should be okay for do it yourselfers; a pro is probably buy a wood ,brass and stainless model. This has some features that others might not have : nice etched stainless steel (not just lacquered) ruler and bolt, trim gauge, thumb knob (love or hate--gets tight, but not rock solid), spirit level and markings on the handle for 0,15,30,45,60,75 degrees (though they are hard to read). The red plastic might even be helpful when you go to find it as opposed to a black or dark handle. I've never seen this brand before, but they have an extensive line of layout tools.

I RECEIVED THE SLIDING T-BEVEL AND IT IS A WELL MADE GOOD QALITY TOOL....THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE LEVER THUMB LOCK IS NOT THE ITEM SHIPPED, THEY NOW MAKE THE KNURLED KNOB WHICH YOU CAN BUY THE SAME STYLE FOR LESS AT YOUR LOCAL HARDWARD STORE & HAVE IT IN YOUR TOOL BELT TODAY!THE KNURLED KNOB IS NOT AS EASY TO USE ONE-HANDED AND THE KNOB STICKS OUT JUST ENOUGH SO THAT YOU CANNOT GET THE WOOD FLUSH AGAINST BOTH FRONT & BACK SIDES OF THE HANDLE. SO THAT WHEN YOU FLIP THE TOOL OVER IT IS DIFFICULT TO MAKE A COMPLIMENTARY/REVERSE ANGLE TO MATCH THE OPPOSING CUT.I REALLY HOPE THEY START MAKING THIS THUMB LEVER LOCK STYLE AGAIN!

Not sure how to rate this one. A very handy tool but the plastic handle seems cheap. Got to wonder if it will last. Other complaint is the locking knob has a tendency to change the angle of the metal ruler. Level is a real nice touch and very handy. All in all it is handy for finding angles and checking level. I do worry about long term durability
