Something of a knifemaking 'industry' standard. It's well made, works well, and is surprisingly easy to install. The dust and water proof case is definitely worth the extra money.I'd add that the knockouts are 3/4". I couldn't find this information and it's useful if you get strain relief bushings for your cords. Which you should.

Follow the well-written instructions and you'll have a smooth running set up. Versatile without being too complex. My 3/4 hp lathe now runs great. Do know that reversing the motor on demand requires a separate switch kit. Also pay attention to the note about conditioning the capacitors before use - dead easy but a must-do. Well made, serious gear, housed in a first-class enclosure.

This is a great product all the way around--Industrial design and components, full documentation and an ability to add customizable features. All for less than $250, well worth the money. Packaged well, all connections and jumpers are accessible, instructions are clear and useful.On a complex device like this VFD, you might think you will need set up help, but it is totally clear how to connect this to the line voltage and three phase motor you are going to control. I replaced the single phase motor on my Delta lathe with a 1hp 3 phase motor from Amazon. The KB VFD started right up, has a speed range from zero to full motor rpm and smooth throughout. Bought the accessory reverse switch and now can turn the motor both directions.This brought new life to my lathe, kept me from having to replace it to get variable speed and between the motor and drive controller, saved me over $1000 to get a similar capability in a new lathe, plus I got reverse, slow, slow finishing speed and much more power. I know this review sounds like I work for the mfg or distributor, but I am just a guy who wanted to upgrade his lathe. I wish every product I bought for my shop had turned out this good.

Super nice. Beautifully made, all sealed from dust. Perfect for mounting near or directly on a machine.Beware though, if you want to use this unit to power your motor with a 110/115v line, make sure it’s not on a GFCI line. The high frequency start will trip the outlet every time.Contact KB, they have a different model for use with 110/115v lines with GFCI.Gone was my original plan, just to make the saw more versatile. No worries, I just wired for 220v service instead.I added the optional power on/off toggle switch too. Very easy to install, and instructions were spot on.

I purchased this unit 09/10/2019 it is less than 1 year old and IT has STOPPED WORKING It only has about 50-100 hours running a small waterfall in my garden.I am very disappointed and would like to send it back , please explain how I can get a replacement?

Before buying an item like this, be sure you know what you need and how to use it. We purchase this particular VFD to run a lot of our motor driven tools that we build here in the shop. We have a number of these and they all work flawlessly. Ensure that you buy the right one as there are different sizes, so correctly match your VFD to the right sized motor. When wired correctly, this performs like a champ. Will buy again.

A fine VFD controller. Only beef was when attaching my conductors to my motor one of the screws broke in half before I had even tightened it on the wire. As I didn't have time to spare, I went ahead and soldered the conductor on, but I was not happy...
