This kit is awesome. I repaired a blown out spark plug in the past with a Dorman kit, insert and special spark plug. The insert eventually gave way and the plug blew out again. I was worried about trying this kit thinking it would be difficult to ream out the spark plug hole and cut new threads into it. Let me tell you, nothing could be easier. This kit has the guide so you can mess up the alignment and the bits are sharp as can be an cut the aluminum head easily. Threading the insert in is a piece of cake. Tips: Use a bit of motor oil on the bits before reaming and cutting the new threads. This will pick up some of the bits of aluminum you take out. Blow newly cut and threaded hole out with compressed air to get out remaining shavings. Add red loc tite to the threads of the insert and anti seize to the threads of the new plug you are installing.To complete the repair you will need a new coil also. I highly recommend this kit.

I have a 2000 Ford Excursion with the 6.8L V10 which also had the notorious spark plug issue. I haven't had any problems yet but plan on replacing all the spark plug seats during my next spark plug change. I hadn't done it previously because the Calvan repair kits were just too expensive. This set is currently less than half of the Calvan set and the quality is just as good. The instructions are pretty decent but I suggest going on youtube and watching a couple different installations just to get a good handle on how it is done and also to pick up a few tips that aren't in the instructions. This set has a full set of 10 inserts unlike most sets that have only 8 so I don't need to buy extras.

Darn Ford modular engine spark plugs! Super prone to breaking when removing them and will certainly ruin their day when they do. This kit works great, I had 2 break on me and was able to get everything fixed up using this kit. If you're going to change the plugs, just order this kit.

I recently used this Amazon spark plug repair kit for my V10 engine, and overall, I’m pretty satisfied with it. The kit comes with everything you need to get the job done, and the instructions are clear enough to follow, even if you’re not a pro. It did a good job of fixing the spark plug threads, and I haven't had any issues since.The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the tools could be a bit more durable. They got the job done, but felt like they could wear down after a few uses. A great kit to save the day. Everything you need to repair spark plug threads. Also comes in a great shadow-boxed case so everything is neatly organized and well kept. The tools themselves are well made and look like they're great quality so very happy with this kit.
