Product Description

There are inherent vulnerabilities of die cast and metal spoked wheels. Everyday use requires that a wheel handle some rough treatment without dents and without bending. Not all wheels are up to this. Our solution? Invent a new material. Kesonite is a strong, dense metal/resin composite. It holds its shape better than metal and it’s stronger than a spoked or die cast wheel. The weight of the wheel makes it easier to use and more accurate on rough terrain. Based on the design of the RR Series Large, a model with over 20 years of continuous improvement. Includes a NEW wheel design, material and safety reflector.

Simple design means fewer parts to wear out and break. Seems sturdy enough, time will tell how durable the plastic cam locks and meter are. ASSEMBLY: Literally a "snap". Insert the telescoping pole into the receiving hole in the meter until it snaps or clicks, and you're done. The attachment is permanent. VISIBILITY: Meter numbers are about 6.5" off the ground and are about 1/4" tall. I'm 6' and have no trouble reading them. SPECS: As advertised... 3' circumference, 11.5" diameter. Actual... 39.5" circumference, 12.57" diameter. The actual specs seem to be closer to that of Model RR30M (1m or 39.37" circumference and 0.318m or 12.5" diameter). The meter is clearly marked as RR30. Does it matter? Probably not. Seems to be calibrated correctly for the wheel size. ACCURACY: Based on actual specs, 100 rotations should equal 329" 2" on the meter. Meter showed 328' 1". An error of 13" or 0.33%. But bear in mind that when used on uneven ground, this accuracy measure could become somewhat misleading depending on what its used for. A laser range finder might have very different results, but at a much higher cost. Its accurate enough for my purposes around the farm. I'm pleased so far. I knocked off a star for the difference in specs and maybe accuracy.

The handle was broken for the measuring wheel when we received it but we needed to use it right away so we super glued it and it worked fine. Definitely needs to be built sturdier, but it did work well.
