(1) Kester 24-6337-0027 Spool, 1 Pound per Spool Kester 24-6337-0027, 44 Rosin Flux is an activated rosin formula for use in flux-cored solder wire. 44 has virtually dominated the field of activated rosin core solders for well over four decades. An outstanding performance feature of this flux is the “instant-action” wetting behavior. The high mobility and fast-spreading action of this flux results in more reliable production line soldering. 44 is classified as ROM1 per J-STD-004.

Great value for the money you get a whole pound of solder. Depending on your needs, 1 spool should last you a really long time if not a lifetime! I used to solder with cheap non name brand stuff and I used to struggle a lot! Since switching to Kester let me tell you! It's the best solder I've ever used! I get the most shiniest joints. The quality is superior to anything else A1 grade over here. It makes soldering a breeze and you don't have to worry anymore about questionable products or look back. You can solder with confidence as they've been a great company for a long time. I chose Kester and I never looked back again. Sometimes depending on the diameter you need, the pricing may increase but it's well worth it! You definitely get what you pay for it's kick-ass!

I read discussion forums about solder and Kester was frequently highly recommended. Most of my soldering is vehicle repair. This solder along with a good flux works well on the old wires.

Kester is the best solder I have used. It’s clean and consistent. The 63/37 is perfect for soldering PCBs. The melting point is low enough to make component soldering a breeze. It also solidifies quickly without a “plastic” phase, eliminating the risk for cold joints.

I've spent countless amounts of money on 50g rolls, and finally sprung on this 1kg one based on a recommendation from a very experienced electrician who also designs PCBs. It makes all sorts of difficult jobs almost trivial, and the lead makes it extremely easy to bridge between exposed copper terminals, which is nearly impossible with lead-free solder. I've not had a single issue using it on tons of electronics, and the recommendation I received also indicated that it was both safe and extremely useful for use in electrical applications.

I decided to bite the bullet and order a pound of Kester 63/37, .031 inch solder. This should last me for years. The Kester solder comes in 1 pound spools. When you divide it by 16 ounces it is no more expensive than the no-name solder. This 63/37 (tin/lead) solder has a great flow characteristic. When you touch the solder to the hot joint nothing happens for a second. Then, bam, you get nice liquid flow all at once. With the 60/40 solder it seems like the solder goes through a slushy, semi-liquid stage before flowing. Not this stuff. Very satisfied.

I love kester solder. My old complaint is I wish it had a little less rosin flux cause it will dirty your soldering tip fast but it’s nothing you can’t clean and not enough to make me stop using it

I suck at soldering. My hands are really shaky and I don't do it often enough to get the practice. I can't believe how much of a difference this made over the cheap stuff (which have thousands of 5 star reviews!) I'd been using. It flows where I want it to go, very easy to use, low temp..For years I've been thinking about trying this, but the price compared to others is significant. I had tried a little tube of it awhile back and didn't like it at all. I didn't know I had brought the wrong type (the naming of various solders is a bit confusing) I finally broke down a few months ago and bought this. I was getting so frustrated soldering I started buying in stead of making. It is absolutely worth the price. It's not a miracle tho - I still suck at soldering, I just suck less now.

63% lead and 37% tin is generally used considered perfect for electronics hand soldering. Kester 44 rosin core flux is generally considered one of — if not the — best for electronics hand soldering. And 0.031” is just about the best diameter for small chassis, through-hole electronics, and SMT down to about 0805 and even 0402. As a result, this is a great solder for most electronics hand soldering. This is a great solder.
