Fantastic.I thought I'd need new keyfobs and was dreading the process of replacing them. But my key worked well and my battery was fine. It was this rubber face that was gone. Installing these was simple! The video on this page helped. I used the base of a glass jar to press the rubber down across the face. without this I was not able to get the face to 'click' into place.

I wasn't planning on reviewing these replacement key fob rubber button pads for my 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe, but I was so happy with how easy it was to do and how nicely the job turned out. Before I ordered them, I had watched several how-to videos and decided not to order them because it looked like too much hassle to replace the pads. But, the pads on both fobs were just falling apart, and on discovering that it costs a fortune to replace the fobs and get them programmed, I bit the bullet and ordered these replacement rubber panels. They came as a set of two along with a tiny screwdriver. It took a little effort to get the screwdriver blade started under the panel edge. But once it was in, working the blade back and forth like a scraper around the perimeter, the panel came out surprisingly easy. The rubber panel was actually holding the metal trim ring in place. Getting the plastic backing panel out was a bit of a challenge - using a small stainless steel spatula, starting at a corner, I worked it under and down the side to the first of six posts holding this plastic backing panel in place. Then carefully levered it up until it clicked loose - and repeated for the remaining five posts. The residual sealant/adhesive scraped surprisingly easily off all the surfaces. The back of these replacement rubber panels have a groove that wraps over the edge of the backing plates. Squeeze a very thin bead of RTV sealant along the perimeter groove of the fob housing relief, drop in the trim ring and assembled panel and backing plate, then sap in the locking posts to complete the reassembly - in theory anyways. These lock posts have a knob on their ends which would not snap in no matter how hard I squeezed! After a bunch of failed attempts, what finally worked was the edge of my old hard rubber mallet - firm enough to exert the pressure needed to snap posts into place, but compliant enough not damage the rubber panel and fold. It took me about 15 to 20 minutes to do the first and half that for the second one. It turned out to be much easier than it looked in the videos, and the supplied screwdriver was just the right size and shape to do the job. Note: No instructions were in the package.

Super easy to swap out. (minus having to scrape the old rubber off the plastic holder) Only took me maybe 10 minutes, is a bit more stiff than the old buttons but works great.

I ordered these to replace broken (worn) keypads for a 2017 Sonata without having to worry about recutting the keys or reprogramming the fob. The tiny screwdriver included made it easy to scrape off the old cover (with no damage to the electronics inside) and then to wedge this cover in place. Simple, minimal packaging, fits perfectly. I'm relieved this was so easy.

Didn’t stay put but a bit of glue did the trick. Wait till it breaks in

Fit well in my key fob. However rubber is harder so hoping it softens up some. To install you must watch a proper video on YouTube, one where you carefully remove/snap the plate out of its tabs that's underneath the rubber pad after removing the pad. Then you fit the rubber in that plate and the silver rim. And place it back in, snapping in to place. No glue required if you do it properly and fits in well. Don't know yet how the rubber will hold up as that needs the test of time.
