If youy detector is 10 yr old, buy this one for replacement. Easy to install. Not to worry about changing battery for years. Good investment.

I have only one wired smoke detector and decided to replace when it went off arbitrarily. t was a 15 year old battery so I guess it was time. Pretty easy to install after watching a you tube video...I'm not that good with electricity.Tested out and works great. Very happy with purchase

I'm really not sure why this item is on Vine since Kidde is an established brand found at just about every major store. They tend to produce very high quality detectors, and we have a lot of their products in our house. The design on this is good, not super flashy, but certainly solid with respect to the competition. Installation is straightforward. If you can install a lighting fixture, you can install this. It performs as well as any of their other products. Not cheap, but you also can't go wrong.
