I got the size S for my 6-year-old and I'm happy with the size. These are very elastic so there is a lot of room to grow as well. The paddings are in the back and on the sides - not in the front or the groins. The paddings are about half an inch thick. These are very lightweight and flexible but work well. My son used these to learn how to ice skate. He had some magnificent falls but never got hurt. I recommend these!

My daughter cannot skate without these!I used to underestimate the importance of good quality crash pads until I realized I needed to buy better ones for my daughter. The most important thing for athletes is to protect their body, and these crash pads have definitely worked for us.Also, they were very budget friendly without sacrificing the quality.I would definitely recommend these!

Effective for back and side protection while learning to skate. A little bulky and uncomfortable when starting out but worth it in the long run!My son is 3’10 and 52lbs And size small works great for him.

My kids are learning ice skating, I decided to purchase these butt pad shorts to provide protection on their body. My kids have been wearing them for a while and have no complain. I think it's a good investment for protecting hips and tail bone for kids who are learning ice skating. I recommend it.

You can sit/drop comfortably in the snow. Bit bulky but I guess that is part of having protection.

While these are marketed for kids, the Large fit my size 2 body well. As I had a broken pelvis last year, I am concerned about my fragility and wanted something that would allow me to still skate, but to lessen the risk of injury. The padding on these.seems sufficient and while not “soft†will definitely lessen the blow from a fall. And, with the back padding extending as far as it does, it offers nice protection for the tailbone. These are shorter than some I’ve tried, and I’ll admit I look like the Stay-Puffed Marshmallow Man when wearing them, but I’m willing to put vanity aside to still enjoy some outdoor activity!
