I have a much more expensive system for doing the same thing. Trouble part of the system is in packing. Decided to buy an inexpensive system to do a pressing cabinet build job as opposed to losing any more time looking through boxes. I thought this might be rather clumsy, but in reality it really worked well. Installing concealed soft close hinges can be a bear without a jig to accurately place the hinge pockets. This kit even came with the 35mm drill bit commonly used. The placement of the hinge being critical could easily be a problem. This system has both plusses and minuses.Pro's:Jig accurately holds the drill in a precise location without floating around. Can be used with or without a clamp. Adjusts for several backsets. Also can be used for several different overlays.Con's:Very light plastic frame, hard to hold while starting drill bit. Although it can be clamped in place, it doesn't come with a clamp. Using a clamp poses its own problems if the face frame is made of soft wood like pine. It can leave indentations in new paint. Without a clamp it wants to drift and you have to strongly hold it in place. It is doable but requires some strength. The hinge placement is limited to 3" or 4" from the top or bottom of the door. If you need 5 or more inches you could make it work but would require clamps and the potential problems they may cause. Overall I rate this jig set as high for the cost. It does the job well, it has a great price point and does not take a large footprint to store it while not being used. Other than a clamp which most cabinet makers already have plenty of the set is complete with locator pin, drill bit, metal drill sleeve and a nice stop collar to prevent drilling too deep. Would buy again. I prefer my $150 device but if I had this jig before buying the more expensive set, I would likely never have bought the spendy jig. Great value for the money.

Easy to use and simple to assemble. The only issue is that the shaft is too short for ease of use for the depth guide thickness. When the guide is set so you don't drill too deep and damage the front of the cabinet door, the drill cannot easily grip it. It kept disengaging from the drill unless I kept resetting the grip.Except for that issue, which was a bit of a pain, the set worked very well.

Let’s call it what it is- a way to drill a straight hole. I only needed to drill 4 holes for 2 doors. The directions are printed in tiny font on the box and give no indication how to use the standoff knobs. Also, my hinges called for a 1/2†depth and the stop collar could only achieve a 5/8†depth minimum. After opening the box and seeing what’s inside, I decided to return it. With a 1-3/8†drill bit that I already had and a steady hand, I was able to accomplish my goal without this jig. I could see this being useful for a large job with repetitive steps, but wasn’t worth it to me. Not sure how people spend over double on other brands for this same thing.

This is well worth the money. It has some nice touches that even the name brand version of the same color and 4x’s the price doesn’t have. It’s a little on the cheap side, so not for a contractor. But for a one or two project DIYer? Perfect.

This thing is pretty bad. I used it to cut 4 holes. While I was able to eventually do this, it wasn’t easy. There are not any instructions other than some tiny pics on side of box. The offset settings have a removable piece so that you have a larger range. The jig itself is functional BUT the hole for the shaft has a sleeve that after drilling just four holes that sleeve and shaft were scarred. I would think there should be a bearing in there. Plan to have some clamps to hold it in place. I would not recommend. For reference, mine was the blue version.

Helped me mount my doors, really glad I got it! Very reasonable price compared to the ones at home depot and lowes.
