Bought this as a replacement for a similar model and it has worked well. Like others of this design it can be easy to tangle the string if you don’t maintain tension. The handle is also pretty small so if you have larger hands it is a bit of a squeeze.

This kite will keep your line, nice and straight and tangled free. It is easy to use and holds quite a bit of line. It comes with a set of gloves so you don’t have to worry about the line cutting your fingers. It is a nice smooth action and once you get used to it It’s comfortable to use. My husband usually uses a fishing pole with his kites, but he has changed over to this kite wheel and does like it. You can wind it up fastly or let it out at a super fast speed. It’s easy to store your line on. It was easy to assemble it very self-explanatory And it’s fun to use when you’re out flying a kite especially on a heavy windy day. It’s easier to hold on to your kite. Because it’s made of a heavy duty plastic it’s easy to use out in the weather and very durable. To clean it up all you have to do is rinse it off with a a hose or wipe it down. I will be getting more of them so I can have different thicknesses of kite line on different kite wheels.

The reel is great, it rolls in approximately 1’ every turn which makes bringing string in super fast. However the string is garbage. If u don’t keep tension on line it immediately tagles. Out of 3 flights, two have cost me 100’ of tangle that I finally just cut out. It twists horribly. I love the reel , hand spot is a tad small but string is my biggest complaint. For 27$ it would be nice to have decent line. I think it reels in so fast that I got hooked into keeping it. Once I run out of garbage line I will replace it. Also hope to improve fishing pole eye that line feeds through.

I don't see any reason to suggest this is for adults. The grip portion is actually smaller than other reels we have have in the house. The only real difference is the amount of line this comes with. The grip gloves are worthless. Functionally speaking, it's as good as any other winder

I got this for a relatively small kite, still it's a nice spool and works flawlessly. I appreciate the gloves and the locking knob as features. This thing is big though that's fine when it comes to holding your kite it's way sturdier than the basic plastic handle they always give you. Overall cool reel, it was fun to use and was very easy to get used to.

I’m such a child. I love flying kites even though I don’t fly them as much as I would like…because I’m an adult and I have the whole work and real life adulting stuff to do. But anyway, the last kite I bought had the standard roll of string which is fine for letting it out. It’s a bit of a different story to bring it back in. That’s where this wheel comes in. It’s just like cranking a fishing reel. Effortless.

This is made of really nice durable plastic, mine came cracked from shipping (box was beat up) i just took some pliars to snack it back in place and works great.
