Along with the 3D printed adapter this is a very easy mod.After long term use the friction fit adapter can slip from the housing. A simple fix is to install one small screw into it

Used this to modify my stock airbox in a 2006 Mini Cooper S (R53) into a style known as a "DaveF Airbox"Engine seems to breathe better combined with my upgraded supercharger and I can definitely hear more supercharger whine, if there are no performance benefits it's worth it just to hear your engine better!
