Product Description

KNIPEX Tools has completely redesigned our Lineman’s Pliers series to make them easier to cut with, saving you time and energy. The rivet has been reduced in size and moved closer to the jaws to create an ultra-high leverage design for 25% easier cutting power. Additionally, the recess on the back now has an oval shaped design which works better on thicker, round or oval shaped cable. The design also has created a great way to deburr conduit pipes; open the jaws slightly for a round shape and insert the conduit. This new lineman’s design is not only making this product more competitive in the market but it is going to become the new design to beat! With carded packaging.

From the Manufacturer

The high leverage New England style linesman pliers require 40% less effort due to the lever action. Additional gripping zone below the articulated joint for powerful leverage and pressing performance. Effective crosswise serrated gripping zone in the jaws for strong gripping and pulling. The cutting edges are an approximate 64 HRC and will cut through soft and hard wire. The cutting capacities are 4.6 mm for medium hard wire and 3.0 mm for hard wire.

It’s hard to comment on something that has so many positive reviews, but allow me try. These are probably the best lineman’s pliers on the market. But what about Klein? Klein pliers are absolutely top tier industrial use products, but I still find Knipex heat treatment and fit-and-finish to be superior. Plus, the Made-In-Germany Gucci factor cant be undervalued. The grips are extremely comfortable and should hopefully resist the chemicals commonly found in workshops and worksites. The high leverage cutting edges slice through Romex like butter. The cross-hatched gripping teeth hold tight and don’t let go. I should mention my pair falls open easily and required no oil or break-in period. I purchased this pair for my father, who has always appreciated the value of good tools as much as me. If you’re looking for heavy duty pliers that last longer and work better, and can afford the premium price, I highly recommend Knipex. I’ve bought perhaps 10 Knipex products and have never regretted purchasing any of them.

Use these daily. I like this model with the grip in the center vs the fish tape puller or crimper. Just preference there.I usually buy a new pair every few years as I want easy cutting of 12/2 mc and all cutters dull with use. These come fairly broken in and only need a smidge of lube to feel like my old pair of Kleins after years of use.I do prefer Klein diagonals as the larger knipex have rounded noses. This is a solid choice for side cutting pliers.

Cuts very tough cobalt alloy tig wire like L605 which is one of the hardest to cut. Does not hurt cutting jaw, well so far so good. This wire absolutely destroyed My pair of kliens and nice pair of Irwin so time will tell its kinda like cutting drill bits. I will say to start its way easier to cut using alot less force on same diameter identical batch of wire. Maybe knipex is the best choice but I wouldn't know this is my first pair . A good buddy at work recommended these because he's hard on cutters like me and swears by them. I myself have never destroyed any cutters as fast as I do cutting this alloy at work maybe knipex will read this and realize there the best and send a few pairs just in case but doubtful they will. I will update review if they wear out faster than I think or have any other issues. I pray they last, there the most expensive cutters iv ever purchased so hopefully my buddy's right and I didn't waste my money like I did with Irwin.Update, 1/17/24. Cutters don't hold up after 2days cutting l605 there a distinct gap right where you cut I even tried cutting a little higher on jaws with same result. They don't make um like they used to , forever buying another and another. I tried guys it's up to the gods now which ones I kill next. I just want a quality pair of wire cutters that are hard enough to cut Inconel and high Nickel superalloys and maybe cobalt l605 on a daily basis at work . Aerospace tig welders deserve better and I know someone out there makes a product that will exceed my expectations.

Great pliers though sometimes the pivot is too loose. General comment: I have almost never received a product on the delivery date so don’t take that seriously.

Used these to pull a bunch of nails out of my floor, and walls, before putting them in my toolbag. You don't even have to squeeze hard to get them to grip even #10 wire for a nice twist.Expensive, but in my opinion worth the price. I've bought a few pairs of Klein linesman's over the years, and these are WAY better quality.Kleins are stiff out of the package, Knipex are loose, and ready to use.10/10 would buy again, I'd be very sad if they went missing.

I'm an Electrician, and I've been through my fair share of pliers (Mostly Klein) And these are by far the best I've ever laid my hands on. I doubt I'll ever use anything else to be honest. The grips are comfortable, they're built like a tank, the action was loose and smooth right out of the package, and the cutters are great (not much trouble cutting through 8/3 romex. Anything smaller is like butter.)My only complaint is that the teeth on the jaws are very sharp out of the package. But that's not really a bad thing depending what you're using them for, just needed some getting used to for doing more delicate work. After a few months use, they've dulled themselves a tiny bit and are perfect. If you're looking for good linesmans pliers, these are the ones.
