The rivet has been reduced in size and moved closer to the jaws to create an ultra-high leverage design for 25% easier cutting power. Additionally, the recess on the back now has an oval shaped design which works better on thicker, round or oval shaped cable. The design also has created a great way to deburr conduit pipes; open the jaws slightly for a round shape and insert the conduit. This new lineman’s design is not only making this product more competitive in the market but it is going to become the new design to beat!

Probably the nicest pliers I will ever own. seem smooooth operating and they cut wire. Unless they attack me while I am sleeping, these should work as advertised for many years.

Recently compared these to the Klein version of these, and the Kleins got a notch in the cutting edge after cutting 1/8†steel spring a few times. Took these Knipex lineman’s to them and it didn’t do a thing to the cutting edge. Since then, I’ve put these through the wringer and they’ve performed better than my Kleins.

First the pros. Fantastic quality. Definitely up to the Kinnipex brand standard. Very heavy duty will cut the really thick cables quite well. The only con if it is one is that they are quite big in your hand. I prefer using as an electrician, the smallest size ones but I keep these for when I have really big cables to cut and i don't want to get the cable cutters out. Bonus they do have a cable crimper on them which the smaller ones don't
