The pipe wrench ( 17" model ) is a high quality tool. They last a lifetime. The 17" model is suitable for most uses. The seller is just an Amazon Associate account, and drop ships directly from Home Depot. I guess I could've just driven down to HD myself, but oh well....

These things are awesome! Snap-On has an adjustable pipe wrench- basically one handle is a piece of readi-rod. My co-workers all bought that, and I bought this. They are always borrowing mine, because it’s way easier to use and works way better on tie rods or anything you can think of to use a pipe wrench on (I’m not a plumber- so I don’t actually use it on pipes)

I really enjoy the weight first and foremost. I enjoy the head profile. Relatively slim. And I enjoy that you can actually clamp onto the pipe/fittings instead of relying on a friction bite. You want the 17â€. 12†is good for around the house, but for tradesmen, get the 17â€.

Super aggressive bite, good leverage. It's my first swedish pipe wrench, kind of like a giant pair of channel locks. Good for tight work, the 18" jaw is like 5/8 thick compared to a ridgid 18" at like 1.5" Cons: after limited use on black steel pipe, the jaw teeth are starting to roll over, losing some bite strength. I still prefer my 18" ridgid pipe wrench over this guy, but it has its limited uses.

I have worked as a plumber and gas fitter for almost 20 years and was very skeptical about this style of pipe wrench but gave it a go and it’s my favourite now!

As soon as you open the box, you know that this tool is of high quality. I was able to test it on various items, shower heads, etc.. Once it does grip, it does not let go. It has a unique design that you will lear to appreciate quickly. I would buy it again in an instant.

These are hard to get adjusted and on the pipe but once it is they don’t slip
