I always favour the basic and original gears. This is a wooden holder with cork at the top for easy grip,. The insert of nip is easy and firm. I don’t have a problem nip getting loose during writing. I use Nikko G nip. I enjoy the body of the pen in wood, very smooth and warm, comfortable grip with the slim pen design that I have small hands. The cost is also unbeatable at such a high quality.

Lighter than I thought it was going to be, this pen nevertheless is real quality. As compared to a certain solid black all-plastic competitor (speedball) maybe it is a tad fragile and will get stained with ink but it costs less and is fancy.

I really like this straight pen holder. I’m new to calligraphy but I bought this hoping it had a universal insert and it does!I took pictures of the universal insert because I didn’t see anyone else show it nor was it mentioned in the item description which is weird.If the prongs come facing up, instead of like mine in the picture, then just use the shank of your nib to push them down.I also took a picture of it next to a Pilot G2 pen for size comparison.I think it’s pretty comfortable. I practiced with it for 3 hours yesterday and my fingers feel fine and I wasn’t feeling any cramping while writing.It hold all of my nibs pretty well so far. The nibs I have are Nikko G, Zebra G, Brause EF66, and Brause Steno(Blue Pumpkin).I would 100% buy this one again. It feels sturdy and the price is great for it.

This doesn’t hold a nib very solidly and they wobble. The design is very disappointing. I should have returned it right away. I expected something far better from Kohl I nor.

I like the pen. However, the price is multiple times expensive compare to the local store I can buy at $6.99.
