Conversion:

I normally buy the Journeyman-Pro products but in the interest of saving some money I purchased this instead. No it's not quite the quality of the equivalent Journeyman-Pro but it is not bad. The contacts do not side in and out of the power inlet as nicely as the Journeyman-Pro but it does fit well. Another thing is the strain relief on this is not as robust as the Journeyman-Pro and is dependent on the two screws that hold the receptacle end into the outer shell. Whereas the Journeyman-Pro has two screws that actually clamp the cord in place at the back side of the assembly.. The method Saihisday uses to clamp the cord does provide a cleaner look to the assembly though.At approximately four dollars less cost than the Journeyman-Pro it warrants a five star rating.

Cable used here is 12/4 with heavy 5/8" covering, too large for the plug body. The interior wires and their insulation is just fine. The wires join the connector in axial direction with screws at the side or radial directions (4). It is a well designed and built connector.The plug fastens well to the four stranded conductors. This is not Hubble. Strain relief comes in better designs but at a very heavy price. This is good enough, particularly if you use a smaller diameter cable. Be sure it is 12/4 for wires, stranded, not solid. Whether for power in-feed to a home, trailer, camper, or welder, use a disconnect on any of those to physically remove a power source before you use this.
