The construction quality and price are fine. It fits the lantern perfectly. But it does not work. It would be easy for this maker to produce the right thing. What is being sold on this page, at least right now, is NOT for a Coleman 220 nor any lantern that requires a .008 inch orifice (the tiny hole that gas comes out of).When you try to use this generator, you will get big yellow flames, smoke, soot, and no light.Amazon and maker: please correct this, and you will have a great product at about half the price of the Coleman part.

Do not buy this product it does not work well with Coleman lanterns. It just spews gas everywhere and you have a constant flame coming out of the top of the lantern. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

Absolute garbage. Doesn't regulate correctly at all. Allows way to much fuel through. Mantles glow yellow & about â…• brightness. Shutoff no longer works properly either. THIS GENERATOR IS A FIRE HAZARD!I spent 3 days head scratching why my lantern just wouldn't work anymore after replacing a bent generator. I ended up buying a Coleman branded generator from a local hardware store as a 'control' & it functions perfectly.I had several small fires below the mantles with this Chinese junk & i still had fuel being transferred an HOUR after closing it down. I had to depressurize the unit to get it to finally shut down.No not recommend. Not worth the $3 saving.

do they work? yes. Can you clean them? not really. These are not Coleman made but probably Chinese knock offs. They do fit and work in 220 and 228 lanterns. BUT, the tip with the pin hole, the "jet" or orifice cannot be removed for cleaning separately. It is not threaded like a genuine Coleman generator but press fit. If you do remove it, it cannot be pushed back on without it leaking and causing a fireball.

I ordered (4) lantern generators. Out of the 4, I only got 1 to work and I had to modify it to work. I will not orders this product again.
