If I could, I’d give it a zero rating.I’ve tried a heat gun and a hair dryer, and I’ve spent hours trying to flatten it. When the mat became pliable enough to bend, I laid it flat and placed a sheet of plywood over it with several 35# and 40# dumbbells placed over the board to press it down. Still, no good. The thing is as bumpy as the track of a roller coaster. The only thing I’ll give the manufacturer credit for this; the pokers on the flip side are as sharp as needles. I know that because in trying to bend the thing the opposite was from the way it came coiled, all I’ve managed to do is stab my fingers and hands. (Yes, I was wearing work gloves, but the pokers stabbed right through them.)After five days of working to flatten it, I finally threw the thing in the trash. The mat was garbage all along; it just took me a few days to realize it.

I do enjoy having this mat. My reason for three stars is that we have medium sized area rugs around our desk area and I find the mat is hard to roll easily across the surface. It has not completely flattened out after being left in the sun for over two days, and now it has been on the carpet in my office for almost a month. It should have totally flattened out, but no. It does grip really well and does not move around, it's just not easy to roll your chair around on without extra effort.

This mat was very hard to roll out and still doesn’t lay flat. It is also much thinner than expected. If it wasn’t so hard to roll back up I would have sent it back! We put lead weights on the corners for 4 days and it still doesn’t lay flat.
