When measuring more than 4 feet outdoors, red led can't be seen, measurement readout can't ne seen outdoors. LED needs to be brighter and larger, screen readouts needs to be brighter. Good for indoor use.

This is decidedly OK. As others have mentioned, it doesn't display feet and inches (or meter/centimeter), everything is a decimal. That's ok, I guess. My use for this is indoors, I don't think it would work well outside because it requires light to bounce back.There are advanced features of this, like calculating height and volume, that I don't fully understand based on the instruction manual. The instructions are bare bones. That's ok, when I need to use those features, I will muddle around and figure it out.Indoors, the distances seem accurate based on what I know about my house.Overall, this is a good product despite some quirks.

It reads feet with a decimal and inches with a decimal but doesn't read feet plus inches. Also doesn't turn off with a button. It turns off by itself. The supplied strap attaches to a recessed slot near the bottom corner which another reviewer couldn't figure out.
