Received this as a Christmas gift and I really like it. It gives a temp reading fast and it seems accurate, definitely better than anything I had before this. Soon as you unlock the probe from the closed position, it turns on so it works it as position. The screen is lcd but has a button to press that backlights it so you can read it in the dark which is a great feature when grilling at night. It’s got magnets in the handle so I keep it stuck to the side of my microwave so it’s always a fast grab when I need it. I have used it quite often for the two months I’ve had it, and so far and it’s been great. Only time will tell how long it really lasts but I’m not expecting any issues.

Purchased the green one in October of 2018. Still going strong and I don't think I have even replaced the battery. If I have it has only been once.Performs quickly, magnet works for my fridge and the side of the grill and the backlight comes in handy. Usuually the autorotate works well, although there are a few times where it might rotate when you would prefer it did not. But I'd rather suffer through those few times and have it, than not.Has survived several drops to concrete from BBQ grill level and have not had any problems with washing due to there are no mechanical buttons. All around, one of my favorite grilling tools if not my favorite.

Accurate. Quick reading. Easy to use and store. Easy to wash off the part you put in the meat. The water doesn’t bother it. Never had to replace the battery yet. Works great. Everything you’d expect from a great instant read.

ive had a bunch of cheapo thermometers hanging around for a while and i finally decided to buy something that might actually be 'instant-read' and yo the quality difference is real and there. if you've been using the 10 dollar digital thermometers from the big name retail establishments this dude is a step up in functionality and i highly recommend it for the hobbyist baker or cook. it's got a strong magnet, quick response time and easy-to-read screen

I've used many different thermometers over the years but most of the ones I purchased were on the lower end of the scale as far as thermometers go. This was my first instant read I've purchased but I have used others. I don't see any major difference in how this one works over some the cheaper instant read thermometers I've used. Frankly, I think an accurate basic thermometer is more practical, considering the much lower price point, for most home cooks. But for someone, such as myself, that often cooks at home and uses a thermometer fairly regularly, stepping up to an instant read with a good design makes sense if it's in your budget. As far as this one goes, I suggest buying it for it's design and features. Otherwise a cheaper instant read will perform similarly. You can find similarly designed thermometers as this one for a lower cost. If I was purchasing again I would likely get one of those or pay more something that is much more durable. Other than durability concerns I'm very happy with it. I just think I could have saved a few bucks and been just as happy with a different thermometer.

As a late 20-something on a tight budget, I’ve tried a bunch of less expensive thermometers over the years & at various relatives homes, but finally got frustrated with their shakey accuracy and/or how quickly they break. After this one, I’ll never look back! This is 100% worth the price point. And it rivals the instant thermometers I used in professional sensory testing kitchens in college.Mine has been working perfectly for almost a year now, and it’s become my go-to housewarming gift for all my friends.I was a little worried that it was only described as “water-resistant,†since I’m definitely not the neatest cook. But I’ve rinsed the full base of mine under running water at least a few times now (only times it was really sticky!), and can confirm the display didn’t get all water-logged or foggy like i was worried about! Normally, i do just wipe down the probe portion with soapy water. The only criticism I have is that the magnet isn’t super strong, so it doesn’t stick to my fridge without sliding down when the door is opened. (It would probably stick to a metal grill though). I didn’t take off any starts because I don’t really care about to the magnet, (it was easily fixed by hanging it on a Command hook instead), but just a heads up for those who are really interested in that feature.Seriously though, if your hesitating between this and a cheaper model, just get this one. You won’t be disappointed and it will last much longer!

For once I can read the temperature of my food. This works as well for right-handed or left handed people. Easy to use and folds back neatly. You can program in g or ounces. NIce. Quality/price perfect.

this is an absolute game-changer for any serious cook. The speed and accuracy of the temperature readings are simply incredible. I can confidently cook steaks to perfection, or ensure that my poultry is cooked through without overdoing it, and as I recently bought an air fryer, you have to change all your usual cooking times and this helps enormouslyThe large, backlit display is easy to read, even in a dimly lit kitchen. The foldable design is compact and convenient for storage. Plus, the splash-resistant feature adds durability and peace of mind.

as good as the very expensive one I have for cooking, I use it for checking film-developing chemical temps and its excellent for this, especially as its waterproof

I've never been comfortable with cooking meals like chicken and turkey so a thermometer was ideal for me to ensure the meat if cooked.I started with one of the probes with the display at the end. These were tiny and hard to read. When searching for a replacement I saw these and liked the idea of a much larger display and a foldaway probe. It was 3 x times the price of my previous thermometer which still works but I ordered one and when it arrived I wasn't disappointed. It's so much easier to use and registers the temperature so quickly I can see which parts of a turkey aren't thawed or up to temperature as I push the probe in.I tested it's accuracy using a glass of water with ice in it. As you can see from the photo it registers 0.4°C which is close enough for me.The thermometer uses a CR2032 coin battery accessed from the back using a coin to open the cover.PositivesQuick to register temperatureLarge, clear backlit display100mm probeSwitches on/off by opening/closing probeRecords max/min temperaturesRange - 40°C to -250°CNegativesNone so far
