Nice and sharp. Pretty easy to assemble. The only issue is that the handle loosens too often and twists around.

I’ll write this out as I progress with it.Day 1: Received. Package much smaller than expected, but makes sense because the edger comes in four pieces. Two poles of somewhat questionable gauge/thickness, a handle and the serrated blade. Right away I noticed the stupid threading on the pole where the top and bottom meet. I hate this junk. They take a pipe end, stick it in a machine that clamps the end in a mold of a thread. It’s not actual threading, and my experience with this before is that it’s a flimsy way of joining pipes. I have a leveler with the same type of pole that keeps falling apart in use.The first thing I did before assembling this was to bust out the JB Weld. I mixed it up and slathered a good amount all over the fake thread ends then twisted them into each other. Hopefully that will keep them together. Add $7 to the cost.I did the same for the bottom of the pole where it bolts onto the serrated edger blade. This takes two bolts. The bolts look cheap so I added some JB Weld to the threads so hopefully they won’t wiggle loose later when I’m putting this thing through it’s paces.My lawn is 40% roots, 40% clay, and 20% dirt. This needs to hold up to some hard work.Handle is a few small bolts similar to the blade-to-pole attachment. Thankfully it’s not the fake threads too. I’m going to JB Weld these together as I bolt it down anyway.UPDATE 1: Got the handle bolted on. Added a bunch of JB Weld inside before bolting it because there’s no way to align the handle straight with the serrated blade.. so this seems prone to spinning. One of the bolts stripped before it got fully tightened. They provide an extra bolt for each size just in case. I dipped each bolt in JB Weld before tightening them with the locknut. I don’t think they’ll come loose now. Gotta wait for the JB Weld to dry and then I’ll be able to test this.Initial impression is that the blade is not really sharp.. it’s been angled a bit but it’s not as sharp as a standard shovel. I also have concerns about the strength of the pole.I intend to use this to build a wedged trench (stab, pull back and push forward to create a gap in the ground) to bury 1/2†sprinkler line. Was the only unit that looked viable that I wouldn’t have to wait 4-8 days to get. Fingers crossed.UPDATE: Ok well it’s nothing better than what I already own. I have another edger that is sturdier but the blade isn’t as narrow or “sharp†as this one. They both go about the same depth in the grass.. so this isn’t a solution for me. I can also put a lot of leverage on the other one but this one would break.With some JB Weld and a yard that has softer dirt, this would work fine for edging. For my Texan claycrete dirt, not sharp enough or heavy enough.

This edger works as promised, but after about 15 minutes of use, the screws holding the handle in place loosen and it starts to turn when putting the edger into the ground. You are forced to stop and tighten the screws, which makes your project take much longer than necessary.

Very easy to assemble and to use. I Zoe grass that has a very dense root system, this sliced through it better than I expected.

The top handle twists no matter how tight you do up the nuts. Had to drill and add a bolt and nut to keep it from twisting.

Bought to do our walkway and driveway edges. The middle part just never stayed stable. Bad design. It's a very short handle. Better to pay a little extra for a solid long handle.
