I've been wanting something like this lawn edger, or possibly a "sod shovel", but I saw this one offered first. It comes in pieces and has to be assembled, that's probably good for shipping expenses, or if one component needs replacement. All of the pieces are pretty thick and the welds look very sufficient. The parts bolt together as well, so you can really crank down and make a solid and sturdy tool. It's much better than the type that just has pop-out buttons or pins to hold it together. I really like this tool over the sod shovel that I used to have because it has the 90 degree foot plate to stomp down on, but this style is not good for getting under the grass to separate the sod from the underlying dirt. Perhaps I'll get both types someday, but this will really do the trick for some tasks I need to get done. The teeth are sharpened a bit so I think this will be good for cutting out some remaining roots from a tree I took down last summer. Also, I need to repair or adjust some sprinkler heads, so this will allow me to cut a clean section of grass around them to lift out while I really dig in and make the repairs. Then I can replace the grass and make it virtually unnoticeable. It's a really handy tool that I've needed for a while, thanks for the nice product.

I have used many types of edging tools, this one works pretty well. I like that you can use your foot for leverage and that its relatively small. This isn't something a professional gardener should use for commercial jobs but for my little patch of grass this is more than enough

This tool is all metal and built like a tank. It is designed to do one thing, and it does it well, make clean edges with out a lot of effort. The shape and design of the blade is great as you can step on the center and it just slices into the ground easily without having to use all your body weight. It is a little pricey but worth it because it is heavy duty and functions perfectly.

This edger tool is beefy and tough; just the way that someone taking care of their yard would want it to be. All of the pieces are sturdy, and there are even two extra sets of nuts and bolts. However, you will want to note that the web page states that this tool will be put together using a wrench and an l-shaped tool. There is not an l-shaped tool in the box. Instead there are two wrenches (see the photo attached to this review for reference). While two wrenches will work just as well, I didn't want this to concern someone upon the opening up of the box when they receive their purchase.
