Just a little bit of a learning curve at first, with studying the instructions, but stick with it. This is now the third one I've installed, and they are well made. It's easy to adjust the sweep, the latching, and strength of the spring return with a turn of the included Allen wrench. I'm soon to buy another.

We just took our time installing it following the instructions, which are pretty much just pictures, but it is understandable. I watched a youtube and checked a website about the different closer orientations which helped a lot! I ended up using the "parallel arm" style, so just use the template for your brackets and pay attention to the measurements of the template. That helped make sure I was putting everything in the right spot, and it worked out perfect. Took about an hour and a half, as someone who never put one on before.

Bought 2 for the gates on my fence. Expensive but I wanted Texas weatherproof from freezing rain to 140 degrees baking in the summer sun. Installation on #1 was a pain. Instructions are detailed but doing the first one take time figuring out how you want it mounted and operating. #2 was about half the time. Still made some mistakes on both but eventually I got it done.

This is a medium duty closer at best. The back check adjustment screw does nothing at 90 deg open.

The mechanism is strong and adjustments work. Our issue with cold weather in the winter is how you need to readjust slightly to avoid non closing.

Arrived quickly and in good condition. Easy to install. Follow the instructions and you'll be fine. Adjustments were straight forward and linear using an allan key. I liked the backstop feature and the latch feature. It was important for this door to latch fully to activate the security lock, and with this door closer I could set it to close with the right amount of force without slamming the door. Body is good solid cast aluminum. Actually mechanism (spring and oil hydraulics) is no larger than the standard light duty types of door closers. The body shown in the pictures is a plastic cover.) I would buy it again.
