Purchased for holding a 13K pound, 37’ boat on the trailer while being towed. The bolt fits tighter than on some of the cheaper Chinese shackles, and overall quality and finish is good. I’m not sure if I would trust anything, but an American made shackle for stresses approaching its working load rating, but I feel confident in using it for my needs. This is my second time buying this brand, and I will choose this over Harbor Freight shackles any day!!

I just received and haven't had to use it yet. But one question I have is the stamp says 4.75 tons which is 9500 #. But it shows 10,472 # in description, so not sure of wll of product.

This size will fit on rear p.u. Bumper trailer ball holes and or trailer chain holes. Will work on trailer hook up holes if your strap hook is large

These heavy duty ring shackle are essential for towing because they provide a secure and strong connection point between your tow vehicle and the towed vehicle, ensuring safe towing by withstanding significant pulling forces without breaking or failing, especially in demanding situations like off-road recovery or heavy-duty towing where high stress is applied to the connection points. I recommend these ring shackles.

These shackles are well constructed and should work well for any application you may need a shackle. The only thing I could see being an issue would be if you're planning to use soft shackles or synthetic rope with them. The shackles are just a bit rough and I could see a little abrasion occurring. You might want to invest in a pair of shackle isolators if planning to use any soft shackles or rope with these. If you'll only be using them with metal hardware, you'll probably be fine.

I have a power winch that I'll use a few times each year, whether for getting a car on a trailer, or helping take out tree stumps. Shackles like this are useful for joining chains to the winch cable and can be opened (unscrewed) or closed (with little chance of it coming undone when not wanted). These 5/8 size may be big enough to even loop a chain thru it where I often have a chain going to each side of a car and the chain looped thru one of these for the winch cable pulling the car. Works well for me.
