Most aftermarket lens hoods for the DSLR Nikkor 18-55mm VR lens are cheap plastic and they stop at 20-22mm so you end up with "vignetting" with your lens at 18-20mm. I carefully matched this lens hood to the appropriate 55mm Nikon lens hood product SKU and it works perfectly. This is a metal lens hood that is compact so it not only allows you to fully zoom out to 18mm and not have vignetting but it is solid material and easy to carry in your bag and attach. I have a Nikon D3200 DSLR I use and this lens is able to screw into a 55mm UV lens cover without issue.

As per my title, it was a little resistant trying to get it to snap into place with the leveling circle at top dead center. But with a strong grip on the lens, it will snap in pace. After that it only takes a gentle twist to snap it in and out. A seemingly perfect fit.

Nikon did not see fit to provide the Z18-140 DX VR lens with a lens shade. This product fits that lens perfectly and snaps nicely into place. Just as good as OEM. Recommended. RJB.

This is a good lens shade for the Nikkor Z DX 12-28. I tried another brand, it wasn't a good fit. This lens shade fits very well ðŸ‘. It was worth the chance, this one works well. It's worth the price. 🌟 📷

The item description clearly says this is made of metal (aluminum). There are other versions made of plastic that sell for less. I ordered this one since I thought it was worth paying more for the aluminum version. The item arrived and is clearly made of plastic. I would not recommend this product or this seller

It is a cheap plastic hood. I have many lens hood from this company and this is the lowest quality but they advertise as a metal hood.

It was difficult to fit securely on the Nikor 40mm f2. One on it stayed on until it got knocked off. So... it's adequate....
