The light dimmer does have a low setting on the back of the dimmer to set how low the brightness will be at its lowest setting... To be set before screwing the dimmer into the box..Nice easy to install and use..

5 of 5 of these switched eventually failed. I had them installed on ceiling fans of the same model on different electrical circuits and they all eventually failed. At first, they work perfectly... and one worked for about two years before failing but they all fail in the same exact way. The light slider eventually will not bring the lights to full brightness, flickering occurs, even an unsafe buzzing noise comes from the switch. Meanwhile, the fan works without issue. At any rate, these switches are garbage. I've since replaced the switches with more electronically controlled (as opposed to manual), and have not had any issues since. I used to associate Leviton with a whole line of quality products-- this one clearly does not meet that mark!

This switch is great. It uses electronic circuitry to control the lighting voltage instead of just using a simple rheostat to limit the current. Rheostat dimmers work fine with incandescent bulbs but suck at controlling LED's. The bulbs no longer flicker at low light settings. I couldn't be happier with this switch.The request for this review asks if it was “easy to install?†I found it very easy. However, I was a Navy trained electronic technician before going through the Electrical Engineering curriculum at the University of Maryland. I know what I am doing. Be careful! 110 volt house current can kill you. Call a professional if you don't know how it all works.

This is a nice switch. I bought it to replace the HORRIBLE Hunter switches. It installed pretty easily. I wrote a review because I liked the first one enough to get another, to replace my other HORRIBLE Hunter switch.p.s. Why are the Hunter switches so bad you may be asking. Short Answer: Designed to fail, and buying a cheap switch or switch parts over, and over and over ends up being more expensive than a nice one.

Well made, good instructions, slide switches easy to move. Would like to have seen visual markings for the different speeds.

The slider switches are too recessed and should stick out more from the faceplate so that it's easier for a finger to grab them and slide them up and down. Also, I would like to see an on-off switch so that I could leave the slider settings for fan and lights in a single position and turn the whole thing on and off with a single switch, but hardly any other manufacturer is making that feature available either.

Easy to instal - just make sure you mark the wires from where the faulty one was removed.

I thought my fans were damaged, they hardly move when on full. I took a chance and bought this thinking I would have to replace the fans as well, but thought I would try a new switch first, works perfectly now with this new switch!!! I’m buying another one to replace the other one!!

Functions perfectly as intended but the dimmer slide for the light is really too easy to slide, a little resistance would be better. Also the "click" into the off position is too light as well. The fan speed control is good.
