The test kit includes one (1) long-term detector with alpha track technology which provides an average radon level in your home or office over an extended period of time. Hardest part was finding a good place for a long term test in my house. Everything else was easy and the report was clear.

Others have complained that this is too slow for a real estate transaction. Duh. Use the short term test for that. This one takes 3-12 MONTHS, and does that because radon levels fluctuate wildly. To get an accurate reading you need to average over a long period. To use, place the pod in an out of the way place. I left my paper work and return envelope with it, so I could find it when it was done. Put a notice in your calendar when to pick it up, so you don't forget. Good to register it online once you are ready to mail it in.

I thought you could collect the sample for a couple of days and send it in.You have to leave it out for THREE MONTHS to collect a sample. That's crazy. They say it's accurate. I suppose it is. But who can wait three months to know if your house has radon?

Due to some (probably overly-onerous) regulations in New Jersey, you might spot a little asterisk at the bottom of the picture with a note that says "*Additional $10 fee required for NJ residents." It should probably be highlighted in the listing because people will miss it. But ok, I noticed it, so wasn't surprised. But then I opened it and used the kit and then noticed when I was filling out the form to send back, that inside it says that the additional NJ fee is $20. I emailed the company, and they confirmed that it's $20, not $10. And the best they could offer was "sorry for the confusion." Confusion? There was nothing confusing about the note on the picture. More like misleading advertising.

After 3 months of testing, I mailed in the test kit in their supplied envelope. I received an email after 1 week saying the test was received damaged. Pro lab contacted me and offered to send me a new test kit. After a few weeks I got a phone call saying that the test kit was Returned to sender. They asked me if I moved or had another address. This went on for two months. Finally I bought a new test kit on my ownAfter another 3 months of testing I mailed the kets kit in. This time, I placed the kit in their suppled envelope and they placed it in a box to protect it. Strange thing happened, test kit arrived damaged. Very fishy. I asked for photos so I can make a claim with the Post Office. “We don’t keep damaged kits†very very fishyI would use another brand.

I did not realize that Long Term meant 3 to 12 months. That is an awful long time to determine a safety risk.

We bought this and followed instructions and set it out for 3 months. Put it in the supplied envelope with all the information. This was about three weeks ago and have not heard a peep since.

I mailed in my test and after a couple weeks received an email that stated results would be emailed in about 3 weeks. It has been much longer and I do not have my results. I have emailed customer service 4 times and have not had any response. I would not recommend this company!
