I build home-made instruments like guitars, ukuleles, a banjo, and, now a violin. Some, out of wooden cigar boxes, some boxes I make. I messed up the only violin bridge I had, So, I sent for these. When I went on line to get one I got some bridge cost shock, then saw these thinking I’ll have 9 spares. Still have 9 spares and a good bridge on my box violin. Not sure I’ll make 9 more, but if and when I want to improve my poor man’s luthier skills, I’ll only have to worry about all the other parts…

These bridges are large and need to be cut into proper sizes but they are inexpensive and their sound effects are not bad.

I think they’ll be okay for practicing bridge carving, but the grain doesn’t look anything like normal bridges on MOST of the ten I got.

Great value. Want to learn making a bridge get these. For the price they cannot be beat. Are they for a high end violin no I do not think so but they do not claim to be. Will they work for a student violin you bet they will. You get 10 so you can mess up a few (and you will) but who cares you will learn how to carve a bridge. Very highly recommend for learning and for a student violin.

These are good quality maple wood. As I only needed one, and have a little skill at hand carving and sanding, I was able to make shorter bridge from just one of the TEN bridges I got.Plus, I love the fact that if I want to change tone or raise or lower my strings, I only need to pull out a new "blank" and start carving.These are perfect for those who know how the violin bridge is supposed to be shaped and have an hour to use a knife and sandpaper, or five minutes if you have access to a belt sander.I would NOT recommend this to beginner violin students who have no knowledge of the parts of a violin and how they are shaped and how they function.These are perfect for a Luthier.

People that give 3 stars don't know about violins... This are not fitted bridges and need work before using it... They are perfect bridges if you know how to set them up... Can't beat the price... 100% recommended to all intelligent people...

Great for any student. Much cheaper than the local violin shop. These do not have the notches, but it is for a student, so the savings more than makes up for it.
