Unlike a lot of stuff being sold on Amazon recently, the pictures are accurate. These are not trick shots or tiny models or metallic looking plastic. The thing is actually made of metal. It seems very sturdy. It screwed onto my desk easily and has plenty of room for my MacBook Pro the, little pencil case that sticks to it with a magnet was not as useful stuck to this because of where I’m mounted it on the desk but because it’s a magnet, I was able to stick it to my magnetic whiteboard to hold my dryer, race markers and eraser. So even if you don’t need the pen and pencil holder stuck to your laptop holder, it being magnetic allows it to be used other places.

I have a raised desk and didn’t like my laptop sitting on my desk taking up space. This is a great hanging shelf. Fits my laptop and has space for my pens and such. The only thing is I wish the air slits went all the way to the top. I have my laptop with the vents on my laptop facing up. It would allow for more air flow to help with the heat from the laptop. I really like how it’s easy to install and is very sturdy. You can easily remove it and put it some where else.

Surprisingly heavy and well made! I hate that I assume stuff from Amazon is just going to be junk, but I was immediately surprised at how heavy the box was when I picked it up.I built my own desk and it's 2.6" thick, so I needed a laptop holder that would fit and many that I saw only went to 2". This fit without any trouble and feels very secure.I didn't need the magnetic pencil holder on the front and so I stuck it on the backside and use it to hide some of the cords.

This is great for keeping a clean desk. I have a folio that was on my desk beside my keyboard which I would mark up with colored pens for my notes on articles. I was able to attach the holder to side of my desk (and it’s a solid attachment) that means when I am not using the folio it is not cluttering up the desk. In addition, the pen holder attaches magnetically so that I can grab the pen holder and put on my desk when using - very convenient.
