These are firmer than the typical "red" rib which is generally pretty soft. However, I love their shape and they work well with projects. The shape of the largest one is perfect to help in making uniformed size/shaped bowls, and the strait side has helped me in throwing taller. Highly recommend!

Rib tools as any potter knows are very important to smoothen your clay, especially when slab building. These tools seem to be a little unfinished on the edges (not that smooth) which sometimes would leave fine lines when trying to smoothen your clay. One of my tool is only unfinished on one side so I use the other side to smoothen the clay.Maybe I got a bad batch, who knows!! But I thought potters out there should know.

These come a little stiff out of the box but they’ve softened up after throwing a few pottery pieces on the wheel. Comes in 3 sizes. Can’t beat the value of having 3 ribs for the price of 1!
